Here it goes
Dkatz can't be the only guy displaying his denim
3washes and one soak, with about 10 or so months of wear. 3 serious repairs. I would say these jeans have held up well to abuse

One more thing, I really hated the photo Of the dork wearing stunna shades and a arctic fur-trapper hat with trendy P-coat and unlaced boots posing with a cigarette next to LULEMON!

^ I saw that article as well. I like style coverage that highlights my taste I.E. when S.E.N.Y was in the NYTimes style section, but somehow I thought the Chronicle's article was tacky. It made "workwear" seem like a fad that was coming into vogue, and a result of the "Recession", as if the whole style industry was responding to a call to need more functional garments.
^^^ Edit NVM, I reread the article, it is more tasteful and historically enlightening than I thought. I just get bitter when I feel as though everyone starts rocking workwear-style clothing as if it's American Apparel--- it will ruin my fondness of the aesthetic.

^woah
Really glad to see someone killing the denim
and that mulholland looks classier and more rugged than any barbour or belstaff on the block

2 months to go. I'm sure I'll keep wearing mine after the end of the contest, but I figure I'll take pictures on the anniversary and use those to represent mine in the contest.
izayuh: any chance of some updated photos? Or do we have to wait 'til a year's up?
good question... I like anticipation
honestly though I have infrequent camera access, I'm taking a photography class beginning next week, first step is to buy a camera. SHoul have pics before end of month. I wanna do a before and after wash sequence. should be interesting.

Someone take pictures of my jeans pleaseeee!!!!
Also for the people who started early like in the beginning of march, do you guys still plan to finish one month early?
^^^ I personally do simply because my jeans might not make it any further, but I don't think it ought to matter, one month is not entirely significant plus I know forsure that my jeans have had at least a month of time spent at the tailor alone, not considering the times when they were inaccessible (i.e. hibernating while I was away)

embarrassed that I didn't have my helmet, I left it in a co-workers car who's currently in L.A. though that shouldnt be an excuse. Honestly I looked idiotic among a crowd of smart safe riders and I'm fortunate nothing happened.
Sorry to hear that Dkatz, mission and 6th , as SF entirely, can be dangerousfor biking. I wonder how those skimpy cat-like helmets hold-up high impact if you lost 3 days of memory. Its better to have bulky protection than aero-like steez

I ride a 1989 Bridgestone RB-1 with dura ace kit
And fuck me after 22.5 miles and carrying 20lbs of food my perineum ( aka gooch, chode, taint, grundle) was raw and the denim may or may not help, but id be better off with padded bike shorts

Heres a new post:
Yesterday was the supermarket street sweep race. 198 racers donated over 7,500 lbs of food to the food bank. It was a good ol time, I happened upon some pictures that Id like to share.
I wore my DB's (one of the only racers in selvage denim, though I saw a guy wearing SExIH03) and I placed 3rd in my category (men's speed roadbike) I won a free book and an incase messenger bag. stoked.
The racers
The map
denim close up
this pulled in 650lbs
The food
The party

^^ I know this is blasphemy but I would buy those to wash em and wear 'em, you know like what denim is for, artifact---- smartifact---- Those are just a damn fine pair of denim with lots of life left, say another century of wear.

WOW, thanks for all the positive rep!
I'll admit that I started these jawns in early march instead of april, so the wear is over a period of 8 months, but there was an interim of two weeks in april that they hung in the closet.
As for how they got so worn, well... I work at a job where I can wear them. And I work hard. Plus I bike 20 miles a day and once a week to mount Tamalpais from The City. Everyone else wears spandex, I wear denim.
The knee rip was a beautiful progression of two tiny holes becoming one big whole. I do plan to get it patched up; my job frowns on gaping holes.
And the coloration is lighter than slate, robins egg blue to tinted silver is a good description.
Lastly more photos to come in natural light *non fit-pics*

sun was going down, used photoshop to color saturate
Knee shot accurately shows contrast
back shot shows accurate indigo color

pictures taken with my new nikonD60
no flash, under indoor office lighting, (you know those strange 1x3 rectangles with shaft lightbulbs embedded in a ceiling of thin destructible squares that can be pushed up with a finger but are held in place by intersecting metal beams)
the photos are true to color. I am new at this photography thing.
