  1. I went to get my hair cut at a salon today. (Eh, found it via Yelp. It had plenty of "good" reviews.) Normally I get my hair cut by a friend's old co-worker, but she has been busy lately. In between the last time I had her cut it and now I let it grow out and hid it under a beanie.

Being that I'm not to sure what hair style suits my face best I just told the stylist to cut my thick asian hair short and thin it out. I'm starting to think that longer hair might suit me better...

Feedback and suggestions would be appreciated!

  2. Sizing question! If I'm a US 9.5 in most shoes, 9 in Chucks, and fit comfortably in a size 41 Common Projects' ankle boot, would a pair of size 41 Nylon Low-top Achilles be the right size? Revolve is all out of size 42s which I have supposed is my CP size and I'm not sure if I should go ahead and get the size 41s...

  3. just wondering if your new cures is new cures H or F, i was trying to get myself a pair of 25, but then i figured out that New cures H does not go down to 25. and i think NC H and F are quite different in terms of fitting. cheers
As far as I know, the only difference between the Homme and Femme versions of the New Cure is the rise. The Femme has a lower rise (One button less than the Homme).
  4. Common Projects' Nylon Training Boot might be up your alley. Here's what a poster on StyleForum had to say about them:

The nylon boot is pretty awesome. I wore those through that tropical storm that just hit new york and they are great. I got stuck visiting my girlfriend @ college but I am glad I had these wannabe rainboots. The downside is that being lined in nappa leather + nylon outer + blackness = hot feet.
water doesnt soak through unless it goes through the tongue area down the sides. I waterproofed mine with that junk you buy at footlocker, who knows if that actually does anything. Water will actually bead up and roll off just like an umbrella.

My feet stayed dryer than if I wore beater sneakers and about as dry as if I had a proper pair of boots - however at least I dont have to trash a decent pair now that I have these.

These will probably be my go-to foul weather beaters , like what you had in mind. As for snow, im sure it would cut it too, but at that point I'd probably wear regular boots.

a sidenote. they are fully lined, tongue and uppers and everything in nappa leather or whatever, so its like a non breathable glove for your feet. I don't have sweaty feet but you will definitely notice the lack of ventilation regardless.

  5. A MacRumors forum member spotted an online retailer who isn't taking Macbook Pro orders now:

Apple will release new Macbook Pro models in a few days, and we will list the new models here immediately. We no longer sell the existing models. We can source them for you if you need, but we recommend you wait for the new units. Many other Apple sellers in New Zealand will have inventory left of the old models, and there is probably the opportunity for a bargain. If you do purchase the base unit elsewhere, we recommend you get the RAM, Extended Warranty, Software and drive upgrade from us, to save money.

This seems to line up with what Mike has been talking about.

  6. I just bought the one with the F. Does that mean i bought the female version??? FUCKKKKKKKK.

Whats the differences with the male and female version.

    Im pissed now.

From a little searching here, the difference is the rise. The F has a lower rise compared to the H. (The F has one button less than the H.)
  7. So I managed to find a hidden John Varvatos ankle boot on Zappos that seems to fit the bill over here. It's definitely in my price range, but I'm curious about sizing. I've measured my feet and it comes out to around a size 9.5 (US) width D via online conversion charts. Unfortunately though Zappos is out of size 9.5s in black, but they do have it in a size 9. A size 9 is a super snug fit on me, but I've read that leather tends to stretch. Should I pull the trigger on these? Any advice and input is appreciated.

  8. So I'm looking into getting a pair of decent black leather chukka boots. My price range is around the $200 to $250 range but I can push it to $350 if needed. I'm looking for something along the lines of the John Varvatos chukka boots that Sidney Lo wears in his Self Edge modeling shots. Before you ask, I've searched a bit already but didn't really see anything that satisfied me.
