  1. yes, not working for me.

i either open up the stream.mp3 in firefox and it continually loads (while i'm able to hear a second of audio and no more), or i download it and open it in itunes/quicktime for it to never play anything. troubleshooting?

grrr. i need my jake from the ball sac shoutout! darn.

  2. dubcov.jpg

    except volume I.

ambience and electronic with some weird/cool/freaky voiceovers. if anyone here is into remixing or making their own electronic/techno/whatever music, you might find some cool stuff to pick from out of this album. otherwise, a nice listen. get at me if you want.

  3. Touche. I see where you're coming from. But yea, a not too slim tapered fit sounds good. I was leaning toward the one size down in the first place. Thanks

the 3001 cut is not tapered. do not expect taper below the knees...

and i do realize an erratum in my post: go one size *up* from your true waist. going down one size will leave you with an extra tight and uncomfortable top block and a very slim fit throughout your thighs.

  4. 'twas not giving her shit at all. just merely curious. i like thedaniway. and, keeping in mind my non-existent position to judge, i think some of her more recent outfits have been quite a large improvement over her mid-summer outfits.

I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT THE WEATHER WAS LIKE, yo.

    ---

can that retarded chick do a wheelie?

  5. Can anyone suggest sizing on a pair of 3001s? I want a "fitted" fit. Ideally halfway between a straight and slim fit. Thanks in advance.

i wouldn't say "fitted" is between slim and straight. i'd say fitted would be pretty slim.

the general consensus, as i've read, is to go one size from your true waist. this will get you a well-rounded slim fit. go true to size for a slimmer fit.

  6. sure, but an honest question: is there a real necessity for a hot brew and a shawl in that seattle weather? better yet: is it really autumn anywhere on the west coast yet?

i was in glee when it only was 94 degrees the other day. but nevertheless, popsicle weather.

  7. i just replied to vs toto's thread thinking he was looking for geller pullover tees, not the geller pullover tee from ss08. psh, that was dumb.

i most likely will eat cereal any time of the day except for breakfast.

  8. interested to see office start up again, but season 4 had too much drama and not enough lols

seems like this will be the formula for the rest of the show

i liked season 2 and 3 alot better

    oh so true.

season 1 was also nice, but didn't have a stable foundation, despite the basketball episode being epic beyond words. seasons 2 and 3 were satisfactory and pleasant, but season 4 had too many doses of "zomg pam + jim = hawt1`1!1!!!" which got annoying.

but, tomorrow's got the first episode of season 5, and i dvr'ed it. it's about everyone in the office wanting to lose weight. sounds good, at least.

  9. you never bothered to check the pockets or anything?

i thought it was a nice gesture from you part... :(

hah. nope. received em in the mail and packaged em to send to you in the same day. didn't bother.

consider it an indirect gift from him.

  10. That's stupid. Plenty of people listen to a wide variety of music.. Operationjake just wants them to list bands so they list a band or two he dislikes or leaves a band out so he can say "see, you just don't understand". Also, listing a few bands doesn't tell you much about the person. Especially when some of us have gigantic music libraries.

uh what? why are you assuming that i want them to list bands and pull an ebert and roeper on their style? first thinking i read pitchfork, and now this. man, you don't know me :D.

if you're referring to the post where i said we should clearly state the genres we're into, that's merely so if mr. xavier says, "i like underground hiphop and a little bit of coltrane era jazz," i can goes, "dood! i have some stuff you would like." whereas if servo said, "i enjoy japanese range-tonal/ambience music," i'd go, "i don't have anything he'd like (unless you're down with light merzbow or any kitaro)."

i'm not about to pull a bitch move on some dude's music, but i am for sure not afraid to defend my music because i feel i have a somewhat extensive knowledge of the music i like (especially for a 17 year old). hating on others' music is not my thing, because if you think about it, it sorta defeats the whole quality and purpose of music.

and xavier, no worries man, i'm not taking it as an "attack" or personal, but if you're gonna be the jerk, back it up. :P

  11. Calm down there. I didn't mean for operation jake to go a-wol.

Saw them live, too. And yeah, the hot hair was the only thing that lifted my spirits, if anything else. Crap. Panda bear is crap, too.

C'mon now. There's a big, ugly, dismal, mediocre, uninspired, trendy, clique-competitive world of "experimental" baaaahhhhhhhds out there for us to namedrop all day to give whatever argument we're propping up some faux-credibility. However, credibility is easy to achieve here in the moment but when the zeitgeist dies off and your music stands alone it's going to be defined as either honest and expressive, making it fresh, or cliche and pre-determined, making it period music.

This is period music. And I don't want to kick off a Wagner vs Brahms debate but... Often with them I feel bland hipsterisms (the sign of the times), but at the same time well-executed with technical [recording] skill. A kind of virtuosity and schlock-of-the-new(ish). Maybe lacking in conceptual or expressive clarity and true depth (relatively). Maybe I'm biased though. I tend to float towards a more absolute form. With that said, they're relatively good. They're smarter than most baaaaaaahhhhhhnds and for what that's worth, hurray. But if you want to elevate your argument by saying that you embrace "experimental" music and boast a critical perception of such, can we please stop thinking in terms of baaaaaaahhhhhhnds and "experimentalism" as stylistic exercise like this type of argument almost always descends into? I'm not trying to come across as a jerk, but I'd love to really talk music without somebody's head exploding.

I remember for a while there was a thread where Matsu and some other people were talking about doing a SUFU soulseek or other medium music swap..!

I forget... Anyway, let's do that again.

i'm looking through this post to find any form of argument instead of attempted belittling or pseudo-insult, which i totally don't mind (0), but this is what i see: "this is period music."

yes, it is period music. i agree with you. i'm only trying to say, i like it because i consider it pretty damn innovative. (oh, i wasn't trying to elevate my argument by saying "i'm into the whole experimental deal," i was merely trying to say "i've been into it before it started becoming a fad." this stated only for the sake of knowing that i was into animal collective before the hype and will be after the hype.)

    case closed.

but a soulseek swap would be good. veryyy good. i bet i have some gems (or could get quite a few) that sufu has either never heard of and would like, or would at least be interested in. i think we really need to state quite clearly what we're "into" though (genres and such).
