I just got a pair of Alden Cigar Chukkas for Christmas and was wondering, do I waterproof them before I wear them out? Thanks in advance.
look at this link

Cheaper alternative for the exact same boots would be custom wesco boss on the patrol toe. The exact same boots for 500 to 600.

Amlai, that's a really nice collection.

French shoes with home made ruber soles. Fantastic!

^ you can still get a Wesco boss with a toe like the chippewas. You have to get them custom made with the 'motorcycle patrol' toe. Here is a pair of custom wescos with the motorcycle patrol toe.
can you tell me on what page you found this picture? I remember someone asked the specifications of this cycle boot to Kim from Wesco and the search engine doesn't work.
Thanks

If anyone knows an Alden retailer who's willing to ship international and marks the package as "gift" please PM me.
Thanks a lot

Also I can't seem to remember who got those natural tan shell cordovan boots, but I kinda want a pair and I was looking for some more pics
Bill got them. I think they were from Blackbird

Thanks Fresco. If you're still wearing them post some pics when you have time.

Hey Fresco,
I know you used to have a pair of wetherby and a pair of semi-dress. Could you help me sizing? How do the wetherby compare to the White's? please give me Uk and US size. Thanks

^ I wonder too!
That is the only thing that makes me wonder if this context boot will really be durable.

How I'd love to get a pair of engineers. But I find them a bit to round toe for me cause I'm Tall and thin. The only alternative I found is a pair of wesco with the patrol toe, so I'm waiting a bit until I get the finance. For the moment I keep wearing My semi dress.

hey wait guys what soles are these on these whites?
Might be a special leather with an extra treatment for water or oil resistance what you think?

That was a great start!! Thanks so much for making me dream!!

^me I'm thinking about removing the cinch. I like to wear a belt, but it is so comfortable without one that I can't do it.

I'll tell you one thing Fresco. I usually don't like double leather soles, and your triple just look awesome. The toe box is perfect and the whole boot doesn't look as chunky as a pair of smoke Js. I really like these.
The only thing that would make me return them is the leather, now if you do like this hide, I'd say keep them and wear them HARD!
Of course, if you really had a style in mind and if you're disappointed, it will never be as if you got what you really wanted and you should return them. I know I work that way, if I have something in mind and I don't get exactly what I wanted, I'll never be satisfied.

I don't think the toe box is the same as the packer. I'd say it doesn't look like any we've seen before.

Belts

^ Thanks, this buckle is exactly what I was looking for. And that is also the way I thought when I bought it. If the leather has to go, the buckle is what I really care for.

Yes, I wondered if I could keep that patina, but then realised that if I wanted that belt to last I had to heavily treat it with fat to nourrish it. That's good news if it comes back. The most important point was to nourrish the leather in depth, if I can get the patina back in surface that's awesome

^I'm a bit late, but are you saying that the smooth leather they offer is not the regular leather offered ont the semi-dress? Damn, I'm about to order a pair of semi dress in brown in the next days. Thank goodness I read it before.
So if we ask for the dress leather they're able to offer it. I already asked for the C width which they don't offer either.

Belts

Vintage US Army belt dated from 1923 (Quarter Master Corps). I tried to bring it back to life. The linen thread was cut in one place, and the leather was pretty dry. The brass buckle is what got me on this one, $20 on Ebay.
Some pics before and after three coats of seal fat and one of brown wax.
