No idea where Junya took references from, but this collection strongly brought to mind Cary Grant's wardrobe and outfits in 'North by Nortwest'. Could be the colour palette i think(?).
Like the blue and olive parkas.

On 60/40 gear: has anyone ever handled/come across any pieces by Mt. Rainier Design Works?
I stumbled across them at zozo.jp a while ago while browsing randomly - they produced a work-cap for Beams+. Their website's quite minimal, and showcases last year's SS stuff: http://www.hrm.co.jp/mtrainier/index.html
*Mt. Rainier updated their site with pieces from S/S 2010:
Men's panamint hood vest:
Men's short parka:
Bush and climbing pants:
Packs:

I came across these Fracap models when I was doing a Google image search; not sure if they have been posted yet.
Seems like there is alot more variety on the Japanese market than the monkey boot and mountaineering boot.
Hiking boot: http://www.5-min.jp/feature/fracap/
Another hiking boot: http://item.rakuten.co.jp/mavazi/fracap_002/
Derby/low-cut boot: http://item.rakuten.co.jp/mavazi/fracap_001/

Caffè completo in Rome, I think it was the best expresso I've ever had.

Kemonozume:
Just saw the first episode - a friend downloaded the series along with Masaaki Yuasa's Mindgame and passed it to me a year back... never did opened them till today, heh.

I believe some models were also posted in the SS '08 thread by soundbomber.
I quite liked some of the Mountain editions.

The Fall 2008 range is up on the Vans Vault site.
Screen captures for everyone's convenience:
I think these are biking shoes (with a bag/case for them).

Loved this!
This and Nausicaa are probably my favourite Miyazaki films.
What did you think? I tried to watch those once and couldn't really get into 'em. Didn't give it much of a shot though.
One viewing wasn't enough for me, probably will watch it through once more.
I guess I can relate to you - I felt the nature and social/cultural/political context of the film was not very relevant unless one happened to be a Swede, or one living in those times(?) not very sure what the newer generation of Swedes feel about this. It did feel abit alienating at some points. Was watching it also for my language studies.
What I found interesting: the blurred line of the 'documentary' technique of 'filming a film being filmed', and the director's presence as an active actor.

Pretty much true, prices did seem good, but most sizes were Ls and XLs and some Ms lying about.
If I recall, there were random undercover, number nine, cdg junya watanabe pieces lying about, some jil sander randoms.
