  1. really been wanting some lucky strikes lately, normally just smoke camel filters, nothing fancy.

Been on a silly unfiltered lucky strikes kick myself lately. Something nostalgic in the air. Hadn't smoked Luckies since high school. Now they're all I'm buying again.

  2. Is that Mr. Oakley?

I actually ran into him about an hour ago on my way back home from the Hapjeong area. He was heading to Yogiga as I was passing it.

I haven't been to Dotolim yet, but it is on my radar. That's the more electronic side of things that I am not as familiar with.

Oakley? No, talking about a Mr. Foster. Whatever.

    edit:

  3. Because I asked about it before coming here, I thought I would do a little post about experimental music/whatever in Seoul for those interested in this sort of thing. While small, I definitely have found some interesting things. I am mainly familiar with what is going on with the gallery Yogiga and those around it, but there seems to be another little circle, too, which is more straight-forward noise and I don't know much about.

Awesome post, man. I wish I'd been around when you were asking for this advice in the first place. My buddy Joe has been in Seoul a few years now and jams with the bulgasari/etc crew pretty regularly.

I don't know if RELAY is still going but that seemed to be a pretty great concert series. Moved from venue to venue though. Dotolim is easier to track down though and it's definitely still active. http://www.dotolim.com/ If I was in Seoul, I wouldn't miss this saturday's concert for anything. Joonyong and Sangtae are both great innovative players on record.

  4. What timing. The day I decide to poke my nose back into this board is less than a week after somebody starts talking AMM.

Have you guys heard the new album? Might actually be the best disc since Keith left the band. between John Butcher and Christian Wolff, they're actually getting enough grit back into the group sound to keep me interested. Some young cellist in the mix too out of Prevost's workshop. Not sold on her but she definitely doesn't fuck it up.

  5. Makers used to generally be the best bourbon you could get most places. But I'm noticing more and more bars stocking Knob Creek now. Which (although obviously no Black Maple Hill) definitely puts me in a better mood.

And on the scotch kick. I'm sitting here with some Springbank right now. Not sure what I think. It's the first Campbeltown region scotch I've bought. Got an unexpectedly mild flavor.

  6. me and omc, grabbing a drink around midnight last night, decided it's not that cold. so man up, bitches.

No, it's not that cold if you wear the right clothes. Which you think at least this board should have under control. Even while trying to look cool.

I find when I walk places, I'm constantly having to take my hat and scarf back off because I'm sweating.

We're not living in Minneapolis or shit.
