remember this is a garment originally worn by miners, rail workers, and other manual laborers. just wash them. they'll be fine.

Anyone have experience with the 11xx and 51xx denim? I'm contemplating some 5109s but I'm concerned about the measurement differences I've seen between them and 1109s. It seems like 5109s run almost a size smaller than 1109s.

1103s are a regular straight cut. you can google pictures to see how they generally fit. you might could compare them to samurai's s5000 or s510.

I wore a pair of Terminal 4s for a six week geology field camp last summer and only lost traction on a rock once. Christy soles are fine.

I have a Real McCoy (Joe McCoy) Selvage Denim Shirt for sale. I wore it less than 10 times before deciding it's a little too small for me. It is a size 16 (a "large") and came factory one-washed from Japan. I have not personally washed it.
It measures:
chest (underarm to underarm) - 21 3/4"
arm (shoulder seam to end of cuff) - 25 1/2â€
length (from the bottom of the collar down the back) - 29"The first picture is an accurate color representation, and then a full shirt picture and a picture of the tag. I am looking for $180 USD shipped in the continental US. PM me if you are interested or have any questions. Here is a link to my ebay feedback: http://www.ebay.com/usr/aarono87
here's a link to its BiG product page

Can anyone recommend some options for men's and women's hiking shoes/boots for light hiking? Most common usage would be hiking in summer/autumn weather (including rainy climates) so would like them to have good traction and be waterproof/water resistant. I've been browsing online but the number of options/brands is a bit overwhelming so just trying to narrow down the pool a bit.

if you just need hem resewn, that usually costs around what, 10-15 dollars? you'd spend that same amount buying materials for your fix. i'd jut take them to a tailor.

some people just don't know how to be cool about things

i'd have to totally disagree. i wore 2109s for four weeks doing geological work eight hours a day in montana this past june. they were fine.

like others have said, SG waists typically shrink less than you expect them to. even in general when buying any jeans, the waist is not the most important measurement to go off of. wear a belt (which you should be doing even if you don't need it to perform its intended function).
