mine are coming along, hitting the 5 month mark in about 3 weeks, also at 3 soaks right now though, probably gonna soak in december sometime

those whiskers are nice, i feel like mine aren't coming in as contrasty as that o well my combs and stacks are good though will post pics after the 4th soak

3 different places, 15 weeks total, Paris first, then Salamanca, then culminating in Rome (each place gets 5 weeks, except for Rome I think will be 6 because I'll have spring break over there )

I'm sooooo fucken hyped... I'm gonna travel probably every other weekend to neighboring countries, but I'd def love to see Berlin

besides I'm glad I has able to try them on before I bought them I was gonna order 9.5 but I ended up getting sz. 9 and they fit perfect! My other shoes haven't seen the light of day since I bought these, but I wanna break these in a good measure before I study abroad in Europe, I'll do a ton of walking over there

They actually just got GT's in at the David Z's shoe store on Broadway between Prince and Spring, thats where i bought mine from lol probably spent too much money on them.... even with my belt... its to the point where if i hafta tighten it more the waist on the jeans will scrunch up so yea..

waiting for these is gonna be tough... my SEXI04's are getting really loose in my waist i wanna buy a better fitting pair but ugh ill just waddle around for the next few weeks till these drop lmao

thats probably from smothering the wallet with obenaufs leather oil and LP lmao its not gonna touch any more till a good year...

i might wanna clean it up though it has indigo stains in a few spots id like to get rid of...

i'll be doing a semester abroad/ road trip around europe for the first six months of 09, so i hope these come in late 08, which would mean i'll be able to take em to japan in dec, singapore in january and the whole of europe with stops in morocco and new york in 09. im excited for these.

hahaha im doing that too, studying abroad that spring semester in Europe, thats what made me want to join this contest, so i can have a nice pair to wear when im abroad and participate in a contest, ill be doing a hell of alot of walking so this should be good

There is a dialogue between will and philip banks thats pretty damn good. Imperial is sanforized, there for all you're going to be doing is getting them wet and lose a little indigo... don't be filthy just wash them if you're gonna get them wet....

He is sort of right. SExI are sanforized so there's no need for an initial soak to shrink the denim. I'm sure a soak will shrink these somewhat after they have been stretched out, but as we all should know by now it doesn't take too long to stretch back to where it was. In light of that fact, a hotsoak will really only give you a temporary shrink at the expense of your dry denim's shine. Thus, he is probably suggesting that you save the shine until they actually need cleaning.

I haven't soaked or washed mine yet, just into my 6th month and the waist has definitely stretched out past my liking. I am holding out till 1 year+ before they touch water though.

I know they are but you soaking doesnt just apply to shrinking unsanforized denim, I like to soak to rid the jeans of factory starch, better for the health of the garment for the long run, and lets if fall on the body much nicer

and as far as the "shine", im not to concerned with that, sometimes it even annoys me to see, i like the look of it after its soaked, but thats just my opinion, i feel you on the saving the shine tho if you like it thats cool, im just saying soaking isnt pointless tho, it helps with other things

but good stuff everyone, love how theyre coming along, wish mine would fade a bit faster haha but all in due time, just gotta enjoy the ride

Did you guys do an intial wash with this? I dont want it to fade or anything.. should I just hot soak it like denim? i want to get all the shrinkage out so it will be perfect fit, what do you guys suggest? I hope I can get mine to fade, the quality of this piece is :eek:!
