  1. here's one that always confused me... what do you guys do at coffee shops/diners when you eat at the counter? the hispanic dudes who barely speaks english takes your order, and drops it off in front of your face. in this situation i tip like 5-10 percent (usually some change or a dollar tops, since eggs bacon and coffee don't cost that much even in nyc).

i feel the same way. if they have a jar, ill drop in my change since i dont like carrying it anyway. but they dont get 20%..

and extra initial tipping at the bar is helpful if its crowded.

  2. you are just going to have to throw your weight back more and commit to it.. it would be easier to manual a different bike but it wouldn't prevent you from doing it.

  3. the cliff builders bars are also pretty good and you get a little protein with them.

i ran xc and t&f (800/mile) in high school and rarely enjoyed the running aspect. did it for all four years all three seasons. short days for XC were 7-8 miles and long days were 12-14 miles. it wasnt until i was in college and could go out and run on my own that i really began to like running. i began rowing in school and ended up gaining 20 lbs of muscle so that made a huge difference. now i probably run a 5k once or twice a week and work it into the rest of my workout program (oly lifts, bodyweight stuff, circuit training).

also, ive been running in asics for 7 years now, and have been very happy with them.

  4. im pro tipping, but my first job was also in a restaurant.

bars: $1-2/drink, 15-25% depending on service.

restaurants: the lowest i'll ever tip is 15%, but usually tip 20%

the one thing is i resent when people try to take my bags at hotels. i can carry it fine and dont want to have to tip them for it. but usually that will be a couple dollars.

  5. does anyone have a light blue oxford for sale, sz L? or are there any more in LA or NY? got mine today and there's actually a hole on the front of it (!?). gonna write them to see if i can somehow get a refund, but dang...

also couldn't believe the purple box plaid actually comes w/a red tab instead of purple as pictured. wakkk! haven't tried it on but i lined it up to the oxfords, and pit-to-pit it's a good bit wider than than the oxfords. made in china too.

let us know how customer service hands this. thats beat about box plaid also.

  6. They're $34 and come in black/black, blue/red, yellow/blue, white/blue and I think one other color. I got the blue/red.

whats the fit of the cut/sewn pineapple compared to the Ts?

  7. mm iono. my iriver is the old ihp-140 with rockbox on it, it has its own line-out and stuff. i used to have a super mini moy but i sold it when i got out of the audio game, thinking raw denimz would be a cheaper hobby. lolz.

haha i used to have the same "setup" roxbox ihp140->super mini moy->es2.. got rid of it all but still have my millet hybrid-> grado rs1's for home use.

  8. did you guys who received your online orders get a shipping confirmation? i got an order and shipping confirmation for the vans online drop, but so far have only gotten an order confirmation for the recent stuff

its probably on its way. on another online drop i didn't get a confirmation email or a shipping confirmation, but it just showed up one day. i wouldn't worry.
