  1. the saint laurent brand is whatever it is. it's no longer ysl, so might as well with marilyn mason.

one of the reasons why people are so disappointed is they were expecting hedi to have a fresh take on ysl and bring something new to the table, different from what tom and stefano did. they just werent expecting a rehash of dh. they're disappointed because it's not yves saint laurent anymore, it's just saint laurent by hedi.

saint laurent is very much like givenchy, in regards to targeting an entirely different and younger market, as vampyrvargfesten mentioned. what riccardo is doing at givenchy has very little to do with the heritage of the label. hedi seems to be following similar footsteps with the rebranding of saint laurent.

Exactly this. If all this was done under the aegis of an Hedi Slimane label, I doubt the uproar would be as bad. Well, his diva behaviour and anti-press antics didn't help, and that was even before the show. Still, word is the collections are selling well.

  2. Another smooth, effortless transaction from Hide-san, Nobu-san, and Kyohei-san. What was even more notable this time was I was looking at a product that had questionable quality, but I really was drawn to it; after showing it to Hide-san, he confirmed I would not be happy with the quality and advised me not to take it and save my money. If that's not looking after my welfare, I don't know what is! Thanks again to Sharp Service!

  3. so i asked this in the small questions thread and never got an answer...figured i might have better luck in here:

    yahoo japan related question...

how the hell do I get the search to display the most recently posted items for sale?

on eBay it's as easy as "Time: Newly Listed " but the damn yahoo japan has had me stumped for years now!

Carl, I took a look at Yahoo Japan and the pull-down menu on the upper left side of the auction items has the option third from the bottom for "Longest Time Remaining" (which is what Google translate translated it into) which is the closest to "newly listed."

  4. Hi Hide-san and Nobu-san, can SSJ accept credit cards through Paypal, or does payment have to be made by bank transfer (through Paypal)?

I've used both with Paypal to make payments (and not just to Sharp Service). It doesn't really matter to the recipient what the source is, but it will matter to you, as credit cards will often lump their own fees upon the Paypal fees. It's an option if you don't have the cash on hand from your bank, but just be aware or inquire from your credit card what the additional costs might be. The last time I did so, I was surprised at how high the final total was.

  5. An item I wanted took too long to receive from the seller, so Hide-san took care of canceling it and then applying my balance to another purchase, which arrived promptly. They seemed to be really busy this past season but it's always nice to know that in the end, Sharp Service is reliable. Looking forward to my next successful transaction!

  6. Has anyone had any experience with the indigo fullcount denim pants? Just wondering how slim they fit and if they are tts. Dont want to fork out on shipping for them to not fit well

Are you talking about the pleated ones? I love them. The fit is really slim from the knees down since they're tapered. The pleats add some fullness on top, of course, but they're not baggy or carrot fit or anything.

  7. stopped by nomad the other day,

the grey linen jacket was awesome. colour looks incredible and the linen feels great. will cop if by some chance it makes it to sale season.

It's amazing - I have been wearing it as a suit with the easy linen pants, in both black and grey - it's got kind of an 80s Yohji vibe.

  8. Joey, how would you say the fitting of the shirts is compared to past seasons? about the same? larger? slimmer?

Just trying to get an idea of whether I should invest in more.

I would say the same. I am a 46 in Dior and most brands, but I tried on all the shirts I wanted and the 48s fit me perfectly, as all the 48s I've owned since Geller worked with Cloak.
