  1. has anyone upgraded their 2 GB ram to 4 GB?

i believe apple offers this, but for a large amount of money?

(this is the unibody pro im talkign about here)

  2. co2 isway better than a mini pump when you're on the road. it also lasts me longer than an hour or two...

carrying around a mini pump on a ride sucks.

co2 cartridges only last you one or two pumps to a good psi no?

since they are 8 bucks for one where i live, i'll stick to mah handpump

  3. I know that the Competitive Cyclist is the recommended site for measure up bike sizing, but I was wondering which of the three fits were people basing their decisions on. I did the fit and all the numbers are not that varied, just wondering if one lends itself to fixed gear riding better, or if it is just personal preference?

Its just personal preference, whatever works for you wont mean it works for the guy next to you or anything.

(your body stretches or gets accustomed to the bicycle also, i noticed in the beginning my ass / back / neck would hurt and now its only my neck (too short of a fork) but i still manage)

Same with seats, alot of first time riders complain how my selle is really uncomfy, but its prolly due to the little amount of real riding they've done.

    mini pumps suck

    co2 ftw

co2 loses psi faster than air no?

i know nitrogen loses air pretty fast though

    Edit:

  4. are portable pumps limited to a certain PSI before air spurts out?

i cant seem to get my tires past 80 or so on my handheld one

it offers a cushy ride though

  5. so im pretty clueless on the road bicyclettes but any decent ones?

feel like adding a geared bicycle. (ebay a good source?)

(i probaly wouldnt be using too much time compared to my commute bike, but i'd like to see options for a complete that is highly reccomended)

  6. damn! -373 that should be a new record

but i'm sure that don't beat christianjustin's score. you kids sure do love baggin! i feel so terrible inside...

    uhh any bicyclette questions? haha

  7. Shit man, seriously? $100 for toe straps??? That seems pretty ridiculous. Granted my buddy who's been riding fixies for 8 years insisted I get them today, too.... but that's tough for me to justify.

And you can't lock your toe straps to your bike. Not that hard for someone to yank them off.

And why not get some quad-gate clips if you're gonna get double straps?

i believe soma quad gates dont work as well? (dont quote me on this though) and you can get the MKS copy of toshis (and im pretty sure mks can stand by their products)

they are a bit cheaper but even when toshi straps are installed its still pretty hard to pull off.

unbranded so i guess it can go pretty unnoticed

nylon is pretty decent because it doesnt move as much as leather straps, whereas the tradeoff in that is that it can rip fairly easy (been using it for one month of light use and its fraying) and the texture of the toshis make it so its pretty antislip in nature

  8. whats a general rule of thumb for foot placement on pedals?

    (i did this rough sketch)

    pedalplacement.png

i push mainly with my toes (think like a womans feet shape when wearing heels) and when i move my seat post down it feels im putting too much weight on the saddle.

    bring down seat a bit?

currently on sylvans and mks Medium (wear size 11/43)

  9. Also I don't know how to get out of that

but Comparative Politics was the worst course I've taken all of college

i got a D in the course... gotta retake it next fall to make up the grade, blegh!

  10. i got a god qulity MEC (mountain equipment co-op) one for less than 100 i believe.

    Plain and functional.

For some reason i feel MEC is only in canada? but i've been wrong before.

Also. If i buy a new hub how much do shops usually charge to install it onto a rim i got.

i was charged labor for 40 bucks per wheel

but im not sure if that'd be different since i bought a new wheel rather than replacement of a hub
