Clear frames with chocolate lenses.

Got these custom made at 'Old Focals' in Pasadena.

Strange enough, I became obsessed with the shape of these glasses and wanted to find a back-up pair and came across something almost identical, Selima optique for Jack Spade. 'Mike' sunglasses, although mine were about 200$ less.

Redwing 875 straight up. Resoled.

I checked out that visual guide the other day. Those 44's look great.

Even though those seem to have less indigo, I still managed to color the tops of my white shoes! Thanks fo the replys Rob and Paul!!

a buddy just brought me a pair of these from japan, dry. They've got great details, but the indigo is so much lighter than the 1947 501s, and the denim seems a little lighter in weight.

I hot soaked 'em cause they were so big. still waiting to break them in.

I'm not sure, not having owned both and not having the latest Japanese specs. But on all the Japanese LVC literature I have, denim is specified as Cone in the same weight as the US versions, so I wouldn't believe there is a huge difference.

What I have seen it that LVC Japan has not had the errors of detailing that we've seen with US LVC; others have observed that the LVC Japan leather - or deerhide - patches are nicer, too .

I emailed cultizm and they said the two are simillar. We'll see......

Does anyone know if the Japanese LVC '47 501s differ much from the ones you can buy from Cultizm?

I bought a couple pairs in Japan and found it to be difficult, so I wanted to order the same model from Cultizm.

Just wondering how much difference there is- cone denim-cut-indigo? etc.

Also wondering if there is a diff in weight as well. From all the posts I've read the Japanese LVC seem to differ from the American (cultizm ordered?) LVC.

If there was an easier way to order these from Japan, I would.

Can anyone help me out?

I've got a pair of 47 501's that I soaked hot when i got 'em a year ago. I've worn 'em straight for a year with no wash. Only tossed them in the dryer from time to time with a fabric sheet after they got stanky. I wanna wash 'em and I'm not too concerned about the fading indigo, what I'm more concerned about is the fit and rigidity of them after a wash. I don't wanna lose that.
