anyone know what's happening with the cosmopolitans @ amazon?

 

pilot was out a year ago but still no season, it got picked up afaik. another series with its pilot from same time period has already had its first season out (red oaks)

 

it's good mayne, whit stillman sitcom set it paris so you can probably imagine how it goes. people tend to love or hate his shit so ymmv.

oh yeah again, revenants' second series is airing in the uk at the moment with good subs, on ep4 so far, it's good mayne.

watched river, it's really good so far. skarsgard is excellent.

lol kind of funny seeing wales getting in on the act, but bbc have a couple of new ones too, from darkness (starring 'britain's best actress' anne-marie duff) and river with skellan skarsgaard.

 

i watched the first ep of the former and it was alright but i've heard good stuff about river, but not caught up yet.

^hmmn, tough to say really. normally i wouldn't say anything so you don't anticipate anything or let me colour your opinion, but i can't allow anyone to shape a session of tv-watching around it!

 

the main issue i can't get over is that what made it appealing was that we'd get to actually see the collapse of civilisation (in LA, no less)--it even appears to be the show's selling point--but they instead focus on some silly family drama.

it's odd, on the few occasions i've visited it seems like it's recovered from an outage of some sort--it's not even up to date anymore nevermind the lack of formats. 

 

waffles and what were pretty much neck and neck but the former was larger at one point which is almost laughable now. then they closed invites while what kept getting people in...

 

though it's changed quite quickly in recent years, i don't think people really want to put in as much of effort nowadays and are perfectly fine with spotify and the like. these places favour obscurity.

have you tried something like monsooned malabar?

 

with a cafetiere it makes a really deep and dark brew, but with a smoothness that may surprise you. i love it.

mr robot is hardly diminished by using an idea you've seen alread; within the context of everything that's gone on it works. it felt more of an homage than a straight rip-off anyway.

 

it was a great ep, the series' trajectory is still headed upwards for me.

this was the deadest week in tv in a while, finally broke out The Corner boxset i've been hoarding for a time like this. I'm halfway through but It's really, really... really good.

what's going to change? what can the mods do? will navel gazing stimulate the community? no

 

it's pathetic, it's dead but you're still here telling us it's dying. what? even if you cared about the community, you're turning away lurkers and noobs with this doomsday bollocks.

 

so what's being achieved? you get to say you called it and hop on the bandwagon (which actually left a couple of years ago)

 

if you have content, post it. if you don't, then.. err don't. lamenting the fact that the glory days are over is bizarre.

oh man, mr robot is so dope.

 

hard to believe it's a usa network show.

Downloaded and watched the first 2 eps of Phoneshop at this recommendation.  It was fucking unbearable.  There's no way I could continue this show.

I just about had a panic attack when they pulled out and revealed how insanely huge the scope of the universe is. It's INSANE. 

 

I finally bought This War of Mine and it's amazing. It's based around survival, it forces you to make moral split-second decisions and there's no going back on anything you do. Super depressing. Totally recommend it. 

 

have you played the vanishing of ethan carter? based on your posts, i think it's right up your alley.
