^What is 'true waist' ?
is there official 'true waist' measurement spot? relative to navel? relative to some other part of my body?
Thanks.
for 3001 fitting, I would say measure a current pair of comfortable jeans in the waist, compare to raw waist on Self Edge chart, and get about the same, maybe round down up to an inch if you are not concerned with thighs being too tight. (waist will stretch more noticibly than thighs)
Sizing is tough.
Where you normally wear your jeans, or just measure a pair that fits good

what causes the "knee-bulge" and how do i get rid of it?
When you sit down or bend your legs, your knees stretch the denim. I don't think there's much you can do about it unless you dont ever bend you knees, and when you hot soak your jeans they should shrink back to close to normal, but it wont last sadly

I was more talking about this tv analogy:
I understand you're apples to oranges argument. You're saying that it's not fair to compare the 660s to more expensive premium jeans(apples to oranges), but that doesn't change the fact that these are $220 jeans. In the case above, if you paid 34% more and you had more problems, you would have a right to complain. If I paid 34% less than you, and I had the problems you had, I'd have the right to complain. We'd both have the right to complain because we both own the same tv, a tv worth the full price (whatever you paid), though I bought it for less. And this point is important, because it means we're not really compairing a $285 apple to a $145 orange, but rather a $285 apple to a $220 orange.
I think this discussion is getting a bit silly, but I think it'd be sillier to say that no one has a right to complain or that we're seeing these problems because these jeans were "only" $145. Most people would still consider $145 a lot to spend on jeans, and most people would be bothered if the stitching along the inseam of their jeans came un-done even if the jeans were $40 or $50.
I said the same shit last page, but i think tyson is working for warehouse or getting free jeans from them or something

Is it possible to move the backpockets on my new raw denim? I want to move the backpockets a little lower. Can it be done (by a tailor) and look good?
Depends on what jeans, if they have hidden rivets in the back pockets it probably cant, or would cost a lot of money. Otherwise it is possible.

We weren't arguing who felt like more of an idiot, you said we shouldn't complain in your previous post, " in my opinion, you really can't complain." Then in this post you say "do i have any more right to bitch than you do because i had a greater number of problems than you? of course not because there the same thing." So which is it? Can we complain or not, as you've said both.
And how about that +rep you said you owed me for mistaken neg rep for washing my jeans?

Its like buying something on sale, we got a discount because its for the contest, if you buy a 42" HD TV on sale for $1000 less, then are you going to say its shittier because you paid less for it than someone else? If you consider price to indicate quality, as you did in your previous post, then they still have the quality of $220 jeans, not $145 jeans.

yeah but is that really a fair comparison -- $145 compared to $285+?
They sell the same jeans for $220 on BiG, so its $220 compared to $285, not that much of a difference to have them rip after a month of wear

to the people having blowouts... is it the denim ripping or the stitching coming undone?
The stitching was loose, but really when I looked at the inside of the jeans, the denim at the seam was all frayed and there was almost no excess material after the stitching, so it was thread going through badly frayed denim

Tiny crotch blow out after playing roller hockey today, gonna fix it tomorrow. Pretty disappointed, I've had $30 jeans that have withstood much more abuse last more than a year, had these under 2 months and im afraid some of he seams are gonna come apart

I've got a true 33" waist and size 29 is slim on me, but not too tight, so these should be good for a 30-31 waist, they stretch out a lot in the waist

Had to wash at 3 weeks due to drunk piss and BBQ sauce related accidents
And sorry for being a noob, but my jeans don't feel like they fit right unless the fly is to the left a noticeable amount, is this normal with all raw jeans?

I'm scared about blowing out parts of my jeans too. When I sit indian style on my bed I can hea teh stitches making a creaking/squeaking(only way I can describe it,never heard jeans make a sound like it before) sound so I can't sit like that for fear of a blowout. And the pockets make the same sound and I can feel it stretching too far if I jam my hand all the way in to get something fast instead of slipping it in carefully
Anyone else get this sound from their seams?

Can he still work the hook up?
if you didn't preorder you could buy em for 175 from big but I think theyre sold out now. They have the same jeans for 220 that aren't for the contest at big though.

We all already knew that they were making some extra pairs with the ordinary dubbleworkspatch to sell after the contest had started. This is nothing new.
I knew they were supposed to, was just checking. And figured it would help out anyone that wanted the jeans but missed out on the contest.
Anyway here's mine, size 29, true waist is a 33 and waist measures 32 on these
need to cuff it 3 times right now, gotta get them hemmed sometime

First off, will BiGs 710s have the tab and arcs? On their page, it doesn't have any pictures of the back of the jeans which is why I'm curious. If anybody has Gordon's email, I'd really appreciate being able to get into contact with him. Also, I am going to be in HK this Christmas, so I was wondering if maybe Take5's 710s would have the tab and arcs?
Nowhere in the US can sell any with arcs or tabs anymore, but ones outside of the US will still have them

That's a painful experiment.
Did they do it on one of the main guys, or did they have some intern/new guy be the lab rat?
-JF
They made Grant(the asian guy) do it
