  1. Anyone have classy knives w/ maybe a wood handle or some nice design, or is everyone just off on this tech stuff...?

    sup tho.

Benchmade 440, 690 have wood handles. gentleman's folder for sure.

or are you talking about slip joint knives? like this :

i don't know too much about slip joints.

but for "classy" knives, look up gentlemen's folders. that's what they are generally classified as.

  2. any knife people out there know anything about the Boker Urban Survival? I'm looking to get a more discrete knife for school carry, something with a small blade to use for really lame light tasks. It's only $25 shipped and it looks like a pen and has super deep carry so I don't think anyone can spot it on me, unlike my shiny ass Spyderco clip.

    sorry it's not a benchmade. /noob :o

shit LOOKS dumb. tanto blade (made for piercing) the "recurve"(usually made to enhance slicing), if you can call it that, looks very non-practical. handles might be uncomfy to hold.

    440c blade=good for price

    aluminum handles=better than plastic

    linerlock=better than lockback, imo

looks VERY difficult to sharpen too, and 440c is a soft steel compared to others, so it'll dull quicker, but is supposed to be easier to sharpen.

for 20 bucks, just go for it if you want that size and whatnot.

even though i still say fish up another 30 bucks and go for a mini-grip. :D

  3. just got a cr2. 20 bucks. good deal. bought a battery at radio shack. stupid thing was 8 bucks.

ok so i have a surefire 6p (i think that's what it's called). and this little thing blows it away in brightness. the beams are the same size and whatnot. the build of the surefire is better though.

when i press down on the top part of the EZ cr2, the light turns on. which is understandable because it's a twist. but it gets me paranoid that it'll turn on in my pocket and drain the battery.

  4. That's pretty sexy, can you put a clip on it? I'm sans man bag most days.

yeah, it comes with a clip. tip down right hand carry if i remember correctly.

i had one of these. REALLY light knife. perfect size for a gentleman's knife.

awesome blade steel too. these go for around 115

  5. any small , durable knives you guys recommend?? i was looking at a spiderco c109bkp.

how much you willing to spend? like i've said before, benchmade's mini-grip is a GREAT place to start with knives. there's the 555 and the 556. one with a hole and one with a thumb stud. these can be around 50-70 depending on where you shop. i have little experience with spyderco, but that knife you mentioned doesn't look too good. it's expensive for what you get. and the blade is 3.5. this is considered medium in the folding knife world. (i think)

if you're looking to spend more, look up benchmade 943 or 940. the best edc knives in the price range IMO.

i know..i'm kinda biased, but i love benchmades and the axis lock!

oh and i got a benchmade 527 that i can sell you for cheap if you want.

  6. yeah, i never was much of a fan for the hollowgrind edge. i was cutting cardboard all day and knife is still sharp.

i'm going to try and give it a convex edge.

i have titanium wilkins grips with red spacer if you're ever interested.

you the guy trying to sell them on the benchmade forums?
