  1. it's a miracle i could understand what you were saying

you might be a little disapointed as the japanese community in montreal is very small..

anyway, there's this korean grocery store that has a lot of japanese products where we often go, it's on st-catherine between atwater and guy,

there's also a japanese/korean grocery store on sherbrooke west, but i haven't been there very often and it was pretty expensive if i remember correctly.

there's also a japanese supermarket on Victoria just south of sherbrooke in westmount called myamoto that has a lot of stuff but is a bit on the expensive side

there's a korean/bio food supermarket in my building that carry a lot of japanese + they have the cheapest frozen ramen in montreal.

you can also find some stuff in chinatown.

sorry for the vague answer, pm me for more detail as i would have to look up the addresses.

when are you planning to come?

pm me, fuuma, mass or 2000db if you want to hang out cause we hang out together all the time.

where's your building (not stalking, just very curious about that korean bio supermarket.

  2. Supernice that you're doing this.

    Keep going!

oh, and you might want to edit that price and details post from yesterday into the first post, makes things clearer.

    done and thanks :)

impressive work suzie, and im definitly interested.

    One question though:

what fabric(s) is the yarn? wool , acrylic, mix?

I have acrylic and polyester at home, but it's also possible to get wool if requested.

I think that wool is a little more expansive, but it shouldn't be THAT bad.

    :)

Sister, I would also like to have a wraparound scarf/hood thing.

I was asking for something like this earlier from my sisters, but they don't really care to make one for me even if I do offer to pay. BLeh.

    the hood/scarf thread

Also I wonder if you can make some arm warmers? Thin thin gauge. My sisters made me a large thread one and it looked too effeminate/furry.

i think that id be possible... i have an idea for some kind of hood. I should ba able to make it in around two weeks.

I'll check for arm warmers as well. Do you want them to look like that picture?

  3. there's something about jimmy's glasses that magnify his eyes and somehow make him look like a badass cartoon character

hahahahaha I gotta agree with that at 100%. And I'll show you what I showed him the other day:

that comic was on my desk for weeks and I was like, that face tells me something.

But I think that the pic of jimmyc in the waywt supertrash version is better. but both of them are good anyways,.

  4. ok, so i was considering getting this filson tote bag to go with what i usually wear, my slim jims/(blk dukes coming), clean tshirt and a jacket, a m65/a cropped peacoat. What do you guys think about it? would it possibly work? im kinda feeling how that looks....however that idea is just my imagination....and we all know how far that can stretch XD, anyways im a college student and i like things that are kinda under the radar.

heres the look at the bag:

    get that within a minute

  5. In Canada you just go to your bank, they'll do it for you.

yep, and with many of the banks and credit unions, you can get lower fees and interests to pay if you're a student or under a certain age.

I know that at my work, people that are considered to have a good credit :

    -pay their bills in time

    -pay their rent in time

-it's also better if you live in appartment or anywhere to be on the lease, that's a proof that you pay the rent. If you're not on the lease, you can't really prove it. Well, you can't, but it way more complicated.

-and building yourself some "history" by getting a credit card is very good. But don't forget to pay it every month, it helps a lot.

  6. I'm in the process of calling 21*19 people and the only thing I like about this task is pushing the buttons on the phone. With my right index finger.

One call, the lady's husband picked up and as soon as he heard me say our store's name, he said "no thank you!"

    My throat kinda hurts now.

I gotta make phone calls too. But I don't have to call people, the computer does it itself.

And people are mostly pretty nice since we call them for them to save money.

  7. can you do something like this:

    silver-coif.jpg

or perhaps a loose type knitted hood like this RO:

    1.JPG

minus the long drapey scarf part.

if so i would be def buy some. please lemme know.

I called my mom yesterday to ask her how long it take to knit a man sweather (she used to knit a lot when I was younger) and she told me it can take around 200 hours. Since I have a full time job, it would take around 2 months for me to make it. I'll try to see what I can do. But if it really do takes 200 hours, it would be kindda expensive.

I'll try to look through the patterns that I have and everything and get back to you with more informations. :)

  8. PM me when you start making Peruvian style beanies. I've got think about colors but let me know when you get a price on them and start offering.

Like I said, it should be in around a month, hopefully.

Pretty stoked for this, but I'm in FL so I'll hold out a little longer since it's still hot as balls.

Just let me know when you think you might need it.

I would like the 2nd that! I need a nice scarf for winter.

    They're coming soon, don't worry.
