  1. haha... i thought it was looked cool on the jeans...

but i was too afraid that i would get a prick to my groin area when i got too drunk one day...

  2. petit standards - tagged size 29

    worn less then 10 times

    waist - 32.2

    front rise - 9.5

    back rise - 12.5

    leg opening - 7

    normally a size 30/31

never was really tight in the waist... even when worn pretty low slung...

depending on the fit you want... i posted above somewhere that they are very similar cut to the nudie thin finns... just with a longer inseam... so just size accordingly...

  3. If this is cone denim I'm very surprised. I own several different LVC's and this denim is far superior to those. Dope + Drakkar own a cotton field of their own in Texas where they grow this super-organic cotton. Then, as I understand it, they make the denim on their own old american looms and sewing machines in Japan.

Here's what Eiichiri Sataka (founder and designer) has to say about his denim:

We start making my jeans by creating the denim fabric from scratch, with 100% organic cotton. That makes my denim original, and it is very important for us to tightly control each step of the production process. Unfortunately, we can’t get organic cotton within Japan, so we import our cotton from the United States, where the roots of denim exist. There is an organic cotton farm that is owned and run based on Japanese direction. They are the resource for my organic cotton, and I make yarn with it. The yarn’s thickness, the way it twists, all these details reflect on the final product. There are many advanced machines that allow you to make many yarns at one time, using waterpower or steam engine. However, we use authentic, original looms made in the 60s, that only make about 10 m of yarn a day. It takes time, but we can control every detail of the process. We make our original blue pigment obtained from indigo dye. We dye our organic cotton yarn carefully to our satisfaction, and then it goes to the weaving process. I believe every denim brand gives their respect to Levi’s, the originators of denim. However, execution of denim is varied by brand. We place careful attention on every process, starting with selecting the right cotton. You can feel the difference when you wear them. In Japan, we have outstanding machinery to make clothing and authentic looms which no other country has. Also, we have the craftsmen who can repair and maintain the authentic looms, as well as pass the skills on to younger generations. In short, we have the right hands and right tools here in Japan. I think jeans made in Japan with premium denim fabrics are second to none. I see many international brands incorporating denim made in Japan. They know the excellence of it. If other countries could make the fabrics as well, I don’t think anybody would care about importing denim made in Japan.

so yeah, there you have it. :)

interesting... maybe i was mislead by the dude in hinoya... he did say something about "america cone mills"...

  4. Yes exactly. Since they are both my true waist size, the sanforized one still real baggy for me. And i was thinking if i got no.1 with the same size, it may fit me perfectly.

However, do u think this thinking is wrong? because i think it is. Note tham i am 179cm tall and my weight is 66kg. Pretty skinny heh

i'm a true waist 30/31... my lot 2001 no.1 specials are size 33 because they will shrink to a size 31... if you a bought a size 32 and you are a true waist 32... you would have extra fun stretching it back to tagged size after the soak... depending how uncomfortable you want to feel wearing yo jawns...

  5. Sorry to re-ask, but as you might be able to tell I'm new to raw denim and just need some quick advice. How soon do APC's usually soften?

compared to many others... apc are relatively soft... midnight is right a week you'll be able to feel the difference... depending how often you wear them...

  6. hmm... did you ever try a size up?

for me the fit is relatively comfortable, given the fact most of my other jeans are slim fit... but fyi anything below the knee wont be going past half my calf...

  7. i was a soccer player myself when i was younger so my calves and thighs have never gone away...

you won't actually find the petit standards looser in the calf if you have huge calves...

based on the feel when i tried them on... they were very very similar...

  8. how do the petit standards fit compared to the new cure? I sized down 2 (31 to a 29) in the NC's but the leg opening was too wide. I was thinking of sizing down 3 (31 to 28) in the petit standards based on measurements of the Petit Standards in the supermarket.

ok... 29 NC's measure 7.25 at the leg opening from context... i just measured my 29 petit standards and it was around 7.1... depending on how you wanht the jeans to fit... unless you have skinny legs, sizing down 2 would be appropriate... but i don't get why you must have such a small leg opening...

  9. if you do want to see the selvage line on your jean... try the petit standards instead of new cures... was finally wearing my petit standards for the first time ever since i bought it... a really good fit...

relatively similar to the sexfh05 that it will never be super tight at the waist unless you sized down 4 or something... i sized down one or two depending on how you look at it... if i went any lower the legs and thighs will be way tight...

  11. talking abt the harajuku skull shop... i didnt buy anything but i did overhear one of the staff ask for a coffee to be made for one of their customers...

ot & emotional is also in the same area...

along with bbc, undftd and some other street brands i can't remember...

  12. leeroy... from the few different pairs i tried on in the evisu shop, you ain't going to achieve 'slim-ish' effect... i guess you won't be exchanging anything since you got them hand painted too... word of advice, there's going to be a lot 2000 no. 1 special comp going on soon... put in on the supermarket, get some money back and get a smaller pair...

if you really cant part with them... hot soak and tumble dry the shit outta them... you'll need to hem them too just to achieve a regular fit...

  13. i was given the luxury of trying them in a non-wash and a one-wash state... i'm a true waist 31 so i got them in a size 33... the dude from the store says that it will shrink 2"... the 33 one-wash was actually a snug fit.. thinking that other people will have already tried it on or worn it... if all the shrink gets out of the way the first few wears will be hell...

  14. i just got back from jap land...

basically you break your trip into a few different areas...

    area#1 - [shibuya/harajuku/omotesando/aoyama]

*pretty much everything in this whole area is walkable... get off either in shibuya or for a shorter walk harajuku... omotesando and aoyama has a large concentration of denim or so called rakuten stuff in the side streets... so without a map pointing to it exactly you might miss a few... (just remember there wont be anything too interesting on the main road, unless like the biggest polo in asia, yes there's rrl in that too)

    area#2 - (ebisu, daikanyama)

*personally didnt go to this area but there are a few shops which could be visited... i would personally recommend evisu tailor... so you could get your pockets painted in a tokyo only colour... haha

    area#3 - (ueno)

*everybody has been spot on in recommending this area... a straight stretch of denim, leather, hawaiian shirts blah blah... includes like 3 hinoyas, 2/3 americayas, jalana... and if you get hungry there are plenty of reasonably priced food... and super large takoyaki balls...

be sure to print out indigofan's denim map for all these places... i could say that i'm a pretty good navigator... but with a normal map and just addresses it took me a while... (apart from ueno) if you ask for directions you would be pointed to the area and the chome but then these chomes could easily be 10X10 blocks wide...

  15. i think he was trying to tell me that i should give them a soak before i hem them... By the way he was describing the shrinking and stretching it does give me af feeling that they are sanforized...

  16. i just copped the apc petit standards yesterday in japan... i also tried on the new cures and i would say that they are pretty similar in the leg size... the guy said a lot of jap that i didnt understand but what i understand the petit standards are `low rise and tight silhouette`

i tried on my true waist with plenty of room to spare... so i sized down one... im not sure if the denim is sanforized but he did say that they will shrink...
