  1. personally, I see the naked and famous slubby jeans and I think they are hideous, they have some kinda weird uneven look that almost looks like an animal print, not to mention they feel mad cheep to me. just my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of repro-fits so I went with thr 007s and love them. they didn't stretch that much at all and the denim looks amazing. I really just want to keep them as dark as possible for as long as possible...the surgar canes are dope as well, but I'm all about the PNJs right now. I'll post pics of my 007s if you're interested...

  2. Thanks man! you should definitely come and check out the shop someday. And, as of right now I've been swamped with work and getting a steady stream of new clients.

If you haven't already, check out all the new projects I've been working work on my website rogueterritory.com.

  3. Naked and Famous is sold at American Rag World Denim Bar both Girls and Guys fits. Personally, I am not impressed by the denim, it's so so. I do, on the other hand, think the "weird guy" low-rise fit is pretty nice.

  4. I'm lovin' my PBJ 007s, I just rotate them a lot because they are so slubby that the wear really shows on them, but the fit is great and the denim and color is amazing...and they are in your price range

  5. Check it out!

Where to Buy Your New Favorite Pair: Rogue Territory

Nothing will turn you into a bespoke-denim snob faster than an afternoon spent trying on baggy-assed five-pockets in a claustrophobic fitting room. L.A.'s new Rogue Territory, a denim altelier inside American Rag's World Denim Bar in Hollywood, makes bespoke and made-to-measure jeans with a huge variety of fabrics (raw indigo, Cone Mills selvedge), cuts (five-pocket, relaxed), and hardware (rivets and buttons in copper and silver). Better yet, owner Karl Thoennessen can clone the pair you've worn to death after just three 45-minute visits - which is probably less time than it would take to find a worthy option at a boutique. Custom pairs from $495

  6. Dude!

Congrats man, i'll see you next month in LA, i'll need you to make me a pair of shorts for the summer.

Thanks man, look forward to seeing you. I'm excited to see what ideas you have for your ummmm what are they called??? Jorts? Haha

  7. hmmm never heard of Rising Sun, the only other custom shop I know of was Work but they closed their doors. Count me in on the meet-up I'd definitely like to meet other deim heads in LA. Thanks for letting me know!

  8. Hey all just wanted to give everyone a quick update on what I'm doing here in LA. So I've been making jeans for about 5 months now. In the New Year I registered and opened my own business and shop. It's called Rogue Territory Custom Jeans. The shop is located inside American Rag's World Denim Bar...So I've been there for the past month. Things are going great. My shop will be featured in Details Magazine in March's Issue so check that out. I've also been making a lot of jeans. If any of you are in the neighborhood come by and say hi. You can also check get my contact info and check out my blog by clicking on the image below. That's it for now!

  9. Defenitely still being sold. there are 2 spots in LA that I know of: Hollywood Trading Company on I believe Beverly and American Rag on La Brea...Both have a great selection of denim. The black straight slims are my new favorite jeans for the moment. oh and I'm a 30 to 31 waist a the 30 fits me like a glove

  10. hey all,

I've been working hard at starting my own bespoke jean business here in LA...along the way I've been making jeans for all sorts of people...the only thing is i haven't been able to take pics of a lot of them. I did manage to get a pic of a pair of super skinnies I made for my gf out of japanese kaihara stretch denim. thye've gone thru one wash after about a month of wear so they shrunk up a bit but have since streched out. I'd say about 1/4 inch, so they look perfect now. here are the pics!

  11. any of you guys into black or black overdyes? I have this dope dark blue weft black overdyed Candiani from italia. pics to follow...thanks for the suggestions. I like the the one back pocket idea as well. and habia I used to skate a lot but my knees and ankles really can't take much more of it, but I've always wanted to design a pair of jeans for skaters that's stylish and functional (has reinforcement in all the right places) so that's where my head is at. thanks again guys new pics to follow soonish.

  12. Hey all, I'm thinking about making a kind of concept jean...nothing too flashy or anything but something maybe a bit more complex then the classic tride and true 5 pocket jean...any ideas, suggestions, thoughts on what would you would like to see on a pair of jeans...

I've always wanted to do a drop yoke with a cinch strap, maybe some patch front pockets...just typing out loud. I'd really like to hear what you guys are into.

  13. Damn, they just get too light too quickly, I never want to wash my 007s. The super dark indigo looks too damn sexy, other than that I noticed fast wear and contrast on mine (without a wash and about straight wear for about 3 weeks I decided to give them a little break, but they are still my favorite jeans)...also I'm feeling the 007s fit over the 008s. they be just opinions tho.

I've got pretty clear whiskering. I'm not sure what "set down" means, but take a look:

That's straight out of their second wash, so those aren't shadows from shape or anything.

  14. hahaha, they are a slim straight, I wear them a little lower then shown here. Overall I'm really happy with the fit, I do agree tho that they could be a lil less tight but the denim will continue to stretch. thanks guys

  15. Thanks for all the support, criticisms and suggestions guys. I have recently finished 2 new pairs of jeans that I wanted to to share with you. Let me know what you think!

*GFs jeans were a pain in the ass, she's a small 24 and likes super low-rise jeans, but I'm happy with my first attempt...I think they need to be tighted in the hips and thigh, and the front and back rise need to to be about an inch lower, but other than that I think they will look sick when they start to fade.

  16. Unfortunately the shop that I worked with (which was completely bespoke) has closed its doors it was called Work Custom Jeans. that said I am completely dedicated to keeping bespoke jeans alive. I still work closely with my teacher and mentor, Brian Kim, who is the co-owner of the shop. With us it's always been about keeping true to tradition, true I deviated a bit, but the concepts of vintage denim still shine thru.

Also, thanks for all the comments/feedback I appreciate it all. I'm working on 2 new pairs of jeans as we speak I expect them to be done by the end of the week or shortly there after. One pair is for me and the other is for my tiny girlfriend. Pics to follow. I should be ready to take orders in a month or so. I have about 10 orders that I need to fill in that time. Thanks again.

  17. It is ring ring, the denim is all right not my favorite but I think when worn the unique color of the weft will make the jeans look badass and vintage. I'm not ready to take orders yet but I will be eventually soon enough. Just to keep in mind I'm able to get all cone mill denim selvage and otherwise (this includes Levis, Lee and Wrangler selvage mostly 13-14oz}, Italian, and Japanese (harder to get the selvage in small quantities but I'm working on it).

  18. Thanks, I modled the back pockets after Nudies pockets (pretty much the same size off the Slim Jim), I guess they look a bit bigger because there's no arcuate to break it up also the cut of the jean is a bit different.
