  1. I wouldn't skimp on dress shoes if I were you. And the ones posted aren't what I would call dress shoes. the leather on dress shoes shouldn't be dimpled or have an obvious grain for a start.

You can get a nice pair of Cheaney Oxford's for under £200. And they'll last you years and years.

    www.cheaney.co.uk

The Redmond is a good shoe (part of the Signature range and available in black and chestnut)

not true what about brushed calfskin, even dressier. also what about brogues? i also woulnt skimp on dress shoes.

Last night i wore my Hugo boss shoes out to a nightclub, not a good idea :(

  2. yes i am very much into the style from the 1800's my influence of dressing i get from france in the 1800's more then england. since were talking about the 1800's i wanted to know does anyone know about the handbag/trunk brand goyard i think it sells only in barneys and other high end stores but i wanted to know if anyone knows where i can buy it online thanks again

i cant be bothered looking for it because im writing an essay but there is a clip on Goyard on Mens style. Mostly their clients are royalty/extreamly wealthy aristocrats etc. Very nice stuff, & very expensive

  3. are you stupid?

plus, onis samurais and 45rpms ARE going to be superior in a physical way. Cut, construction, indigo/dye quality, texture. i doubt that even 5% of americans (or whatever country youre in) even know about those brands

i myself love putting on a pair of $750 evisu's. I have 26 jeans all up. I also sell jeans from PRPS, LVC, Evisu, nudie and deisel to earnest sewn and Edwin. But too all the other denim junkies out there, not always do jeans last longer because of construcion, the quality of cotton, the loom its spun on or the thickness/ weight etc. Ive seen a guy come into work with a pair of RRDS that he'd worn for 8 months that he'd worn holes through the knee and had the crotch repaired twice and one pocket had completely torn off.

In my honest opinion of selling jeans the last 2 years is that a pair of original levis 501 redline selvage for 180AUS will perform just as well as a 600AUS pair of PRPS purple selvage if worn for labour intensive work. depending on how you move and wear your jeans every pair have their weak points.

Its just my opinion, but i also think that for a guy like the one on trial here, fit/branding dont matter, i myself would not wear anything like Lee or normal levis, because of the look and stigma but that is a personal choice all of us have to make. Sure he is not that educated on the topic but there is no need to tell him not to post, is there? I thought we were all here to learn and share idea's.

  4. ^ Those 3 are sweet

edit: but i think it's a chick ahah .. not sure htough

ahhahah it is a girl i work with her.Btw the tees are ok nothing great and many of the peices are very ave. I talked to Johnny one of the designers on fri its very indy melbourne scene not at all me.

  5. Clothing and fashion is similar to industrial design and artisan goods--beautifully made items with thematic esthetics but produced for an inherent utility. A Leica camera or '30s Mercedes are both intricately designed and pretty but I would characterize neither as art.

Art is inherently devoid of utility. Art provokes a reaction though definitions of art are nebulous--a terrorist attack could be art as could be a Rembrandt. Either one has the potential to provoke a viscerality; Kurt Vonneguet once called the bombing of Dresden art.

couldnt have been said better. your obviously a very intellectual person, and this descirbes exactly what most of us know at heart about fashion. Thankyou

  6. ive come to realize that fashion bores me. that being said, i take my style inspiration from everything that i have seen up to this point, everything ive done, everything i have experienced.

    Pretentious?

  7. I used to belong to a photography forum and the general consensus was that for a begginer wanting to learn but is also serious, was to get the Nikon D50 just that little bit easier to use and alot more durable/will last you longer.

It was also the first camera that my father used when he switched from film to digital. In my mind Nikon is alot better and easier to use than cannon is. :)

  8. its quite good compare with vice style guide..which i think sucks...

    nylons terrible as well

Only one issue of Mens non-no comes in to melb that i know of. A guy at my work lines up for an hour to be the first person to get it at the start of each month. hahah. If he doesnt remember or the another person gets it, he gets it sent from sydney. So tragic :o

  9. There is a guide that helped me with buying a suit. It mainly looks at the fit of the jacket and can be a big help. I know its not the best because its not a sports jacket blazer but its a start.

    Justy follow the video link.

There is also an even better video that talks about lengths of jackets, widths of lapels, arm lengths and even the amount of cuff showing for different body shapes. Agian follow the link that says video.
