  1. Honestly this set up is just silly. If you're DJing in a dark booth (which tends to be 99.9% of the time) and you're drunk or high (which tends to be 99.9% of the time) you want to limit the risk of hitting that fuckin needle. By turning it upright you reduce this risk. Even the 'L' style has risk.

AND NOTHING is more retarded than a DJ who drunkenly skips a record. HA.

Yeah the reason kids started turnign their 1200s the rightway up was to scratch without the arm getting in the way BUT even if you're beatmixing and just sliding that x-fader over from one side to other you still want that arm outta the way.

So you just got the set up and you're learning the crab n' flare... start with the basics before you get into the complex scratches! Learn to sratch in TIME with a battle record. How many times do you see 'scratch DJ's that just make noise rather than music?? ANd which one do you prefer...

    FUCK i need sleep.

I find it way more awkward with them vertical, as I don't like stretching over the turntable - I'm more likely to accidentally hit the arm or have a stray shirt end touch the record or something. Plus unless you play hip hop nights, most places are gonna be set up traditionally and could be tricky to move stuff about when you turn up.

  2. is it me or does she look slightly retarted ? & not in a mean way but seriously mentally handicapped ...did you promise a re-re a twinkie for a nude ?

The denim waistcoat you're pushing in supermarket is mentally handicapped.

  3. Here's some notes:

Forget what else you heard, the best sound system in town is at Plastic People under Curtain Road.

333 always looks kinda shit these days.

Boombox and all that other 'polysexual' nonsense should definately be avoided if you're not a tranny.

T Bar is free, but full of Italian tourists and the sound system is awful.

Generally avoid the area in and outside of Cafe 1001 if you don't like Italian tourists eating dirty barbeque food.

Shoreditch House is pretty overrated once you get inside, especially on the weekend/friday nights. Probably worth it if you are in Media or enjoy a nice view of the city at night.

Although I've not been there, I'm hearing things about Melange up on Kingsland Road.

    Fabric is too popular.

  4. My only experience of Colette was a few years ago, around the time things like Visvim and APC were getting popular, and I pretty much felt the same way as the above comment. They had barely any men's clothes, most was in this little enclosure at he back, with about 2-3 mannequins devoted to men's stuff. It was a real mish-mash, but mostly very of-the-moment streetwear t shirt brands mixed with the odd avant garde designer. I too didn't like the way it claims to carry loads of designers, but only actually has about 2 (seemingly randomnly) chosen items from each one. It's as though it just wants to be known as having carried it when it was cool - It's like retail namechecking, or something?

  5. It's kinda cool that some London shit is getting such big excitement from America, but i think it is completely shit and everyone is bored of this horrible trend here. Like the young chap said earlier in the thread, I was shocked to see it downstairs in DSM. IT's not really 'worthy' is it.

If you want to see something a bit more decent from young London designers, check places like B Store on Saville Row or something.
