  1. Preconceptions has a massive influence, case in point: white guy in hip hop gear or even Asian to an extent doesnt look anywhere near as good as black people in those said clothes.

Plus i must stress that most non Asian can not tell the difference between koreans japanese etc, so a Chinese kid rocking Japanese brands look just as good vice verser TO a non asian.

  2. I heard they fuck up your hair later.

Anyway its all bullshit, most white guys dont need straighteners to make their hair look "asian".

Half of white guys have straight hair and can make their hair look "asian" by simply paying for a decent layered haircut.

If you go to the chain place and pay $10 no matter what you ask for the bitch isnt going to layer your hair, shes gonna cut in short back and sides and one length on top. If you pay around $50 most stylists (asian or white or whatever) are gonna cut in different lengths (so the short pieces support the longer), chunks out, razor if you ask for it and you`re gonna have a more 3D volumised haircut.

I`m whiter than white (English and Irish ancenstory), have never used a straightener and people think I`m asian/half asian all the time just because of the style of haircut I get.

"anime style" haircuts are just more popular in Asia. In the `80s a lot of whites had similar cuts tho I think.

They might fuck your hair up, but thats temporary after it grows out.

layering= cutting hairs in diff lengths?

  3. Hair straighteners ! :D :D

I said it before, still must be said again but they pretty much make your hair asain like and a million times easier to style, doesnt matter if they're considered gay.

  4. I'm not the biggest fashion head, but I know a few things. I would think buying in boutiques is very important in setting your own style plus its more exclusive and doesnt have to cost much.

Shopping everywhere (even where common people shop) is a good idea as you can mix those items within your style and m,ake them look 10x better with your superior items.

Vintage stores, second hand stores, and places where you usually won't go like for myself i'm no indie rock dude but i've been to some of the stores they specialise in those clothes and they have good shit.

  5. This is a bit extreame but, i have a pari of crappy work jeans that are 2 sizes too big, so i soaked them in BOILING water, the dye grained alot but didnt change the colour of the jean for some reason. Any initially they shrunk 2 inch at the waist, then after wearing them for a while they went back to 1 inch below their original size. I reckon if i do it more it could shrink more, but i'll only do it with crap jeans.

  6. I'd like to see an asian guy with a style similar to the LV model in page 4. It is a style i've always wanted but will never be able to get cause of my shitty asian hair. I've had the asian style with the layering and matte look for years now and it's starting to shit me. It seems every asian guy wants to look like an anime character these days.

I think you can obtain that style, just need soft and wavly hair which I guess can be done using various techniques and creame like hair products.

  7. So whats texturising? is it the combo of Razor+Layers?

I said before and I'll say it again, a good hair straightener will give you that asain type hair, I only razor my hair non of the layering stuff but it looks great when straitened.

  8. I've seen the light.

    Hair straighteners!

I have the most thick, wavly-when-long meditteranean hair their is, but after thinning it, I straightened it and I looked Asian! how cool. I've been told to do this for ages to get the rigth matt look but i never thought it'll be this easy, I only use a tiny bit of clay now, whereas before it was quite a fucking lot!

Might be old news for some, still, its a revelation for me.

  9. yeah. it's a straight razor with a removable guard that works as a comb. first i thin out the bottom of the sides and back to taper it off. then i cut and add texture to the top and sides.

When you say you add texture, do you mean just gliding the razor over your hair or do you do some other shit?

  10. What are some good trimming sheer and cutting sheers on the cheap? Should I invest in a razor comb or something? If so, what kind. Suggestions please :)

I dunno which brands are good, i just bought the ones at some afro beauty store. Def get the razor comb, again i have some random cheap-as-hell one so not much help their then :P

  11. Fuck I seriously hate most everything Diesel puts out, but I saw that messenger bag at the Diesel spot in Pasadena and it is pretty great. The all black ballistic nylon one, right? Beefy metal buckles, a million pockets of various sizes. The only thing that bothers me is that leather patch embosed with Diesel and the subtle Diesel print on the shoulder strap. As soon as I saw it I was thinking of ways to un-brand it.

Oh yes, I think we're talking about the same bag here :) . It is quite manly looking as its black and looks functional, I don't mined the Diesel logo and stuff, the brand isn't really considered gay in the UK :D I might just buy it tomorrow, if they have more than the one on display, i hate buying the display products

  12. nah dude

it's just that i had to style my hair in the morning

and i just went running after class...

but you gotta look fly @ the gym though

 yep you do, even though my gym is only for men...

  13. i use my straigh razor and cut a little bit at a time in small chunks, but not too small. if you cut too much at once it looks too choppy and blunt. if you cut to little at once you can't see any texture.

What type of razor do you use? i assume comb ones ya?
