  1. this is very wrong.

I've tried to get steel toes in the last two pairs of SD's I've ordered and White's refused to make them. They said they haven't been "tested" with steel toes and can't stand by them. Unless they'd changed their policy recently, they won't built the SD with steel toes.

The first pair I had to change to Farmer-Ranchers and the second pair I ordered with celastic.

  2. ^^ Fantastic, thanks for the pics :)

Liking that grey jacket in the second pic.

That grey jacket (and the brown one next to it that you can barely make out) are the samples of the September 1904 jackets. I tried on the brown one and subsequently ordered it. The grey one sold out in a heartbeat.

  3. Not sure where else to post this, but since Workers gets the most attention in this thread…

Yesterday I visited the K&TH Store in Kurashiki. Wonderful shop and wonderful town. It was a treat to handle a number of Takashi's garments at one time. The September jackets and shirts are fucking gorgeous. I was shown an original Abercrombie and Fitch wartime bag and the reproduction, which was spot-on. Unfortunately, there was nothing I wanted to purchase, but I did take a few photos for your guys.

  4. please zakurie,

more infos about your herringbone pants.

Those are Stronghold jeans. I placed a custom order with them a few years back when Bill was still working there. I was in their shop 6 weeks ago and they still have stock of the denim, and I think they had some already made jeans in that denim for sale as well.

  5. Just had to say, the MOTO boots look fantastic. Are they worth the money?

Also, having a look at the website, those are the Desert Boot long, not Monkey? Is that right?

Nice catch. They are indeed the Dessert Boot long. My mind is suffering from a lack of sleep.

I believe that are worth the money, albeit the exchange rate is making them ever more expensive. The craftsmanship is wonderful, leathers are quite nice and they fit me perfectly. I'm buying another pair in a few weeks.

  6. I haven't checked to see if they are the same length, but I think the waxed Cotten laces for Alden 405s might work. You can order them over the phone from the Madison ave shop in NYC and I imagine you could do the same from the San Fran store. The semi dress laces definitely leave something to be desired.

Also, has anyone here tried the white's leather laces on the semi dress? I've been thinking about trying those out.

I think the Alden waxed laces that I have on my semi-dress are for the 405s. They are shorter than the White's laces and work much better aesthetically and functionally.
