  1. even they made from Thailand but the denim are from Japan (they have to pay for shipping cost)

" so why do these cost more than Flatheads, PBJ, and Skulls?? "

really? I'm in Thailand right now can you give me some link that I can order these brand cheaper than 285$ because in Thailand the price for all of these brand are over 300$.

If you wanna compare you should compare with small brand (some famous denim brand from new zealand that use Japanese denim too)do you know the price??? because small brand can make it in a small quantity (200 pairs/lot) than the large brand so the labour cost is gonna be high.

you know what? I thought your logic is so weird man, why someone who wanna start anything have to start with standard level if they wanna do their best (use high quality denim ,handmade frabric ,unique bottons) to make it be good product. They wrong??

so stop look down on and judge my country from GDP or GPA

i don't think anyone's looking down on Thailand necessarily milanestar, people are just discussing the logistics.

Nobody was insinuating anything negative when mentioning GPA or GDP, that's just factual information...so you should understand why it seems a bit odd, or far-fetched to expect someone (on average-not every single person) to pay so much for jawnz there...especially with that exchange rate........it's simple maths, not an attack on you or your culture.

It is also factual that laboUr can be cheaper in different locations, as can taxing/shipping/freight costs or politics, depending on one's locale..

The same product that costs $250 (for example) here could easily sell elsewhere for $300, it's down to marketing and the other costs/circumstances I mentioned before.

So you should relax a bit, and just understand that for some, it makes sense to spend less money on a product with more of a history or established legacy...

based on my observations...you should also realize that dawei tends to be like that (the occasional jibe never hurt anyone;)), so just chill.

The brand is now known amongst a great community of denimheads, and it's being discussed often......good start, imo

  2. ^tee seems oversized to me, or are they supposed to be worn like that?

some people don't like their nipples showing through extra Smedium shirts..

    it's a T-shirt...seriously

  3. He's hamming it up for the camera because he didn't want his picture taken as he had an Arsenal beanie on, when he is in fact a Man U supporter.

It's a fact most gooners choose to dress like that.

please tell me you aren't a gooner Ande..

i will never buy your jawnz if it is so...:D

also, those pics have solidified my deicision to try to get to NZ next summer for the RWC. I know that's only Christchurch, but it's such a scenic place

  4. We've had some sick weather in the Illadel the past few days (i've been out roaming, sans camera), so of course I choose the overcast/rainy day to take pics......it's how i roll....sorry.

I'll get better ones this summer.

So anyway, I started skateboarding again (after 10 years, lol), and the 864s have become my denim of choice for such actividades. They are a little heavy for the humidity, but they have protected my legs....

Also they are a little stAnk right now, so i took these before they get their Bronner's bath

    here we go:

^mind the color (lighting)..still looks cool.

no blowouts after a few years, and some hardcore work. washing prolongs life. 4 realz B

I think it's safe to say the falling on Eternal denim is one beautiful thing.

  5. i agree... worn areas show more indigo loss... But if your going for a more constrasty look its better to delay washes.. different strokes for different folks...

    not exactly.

if an abraded area loses more indigo when washed, chances are there will be MORE contrast...If you constantly wear, and wash, you will lose even more indigo in those high-friction areas...the rest of the jean should stay dark(er)

hence when people don't wash for months (or years), the first wash reveals more wear, look at ipark's black jawns, as an example.

bottom line, if you're scheduling shit you're thinking about it too much..wash when they need it, good to go

but yes to each their own..

just don't stand next to me funky ass people

  6. 864s (x-post from Evo thread)

    DSCN2050.JPG

    These were O/W

wrinkles and creasing were visible when purchased, but in no way has affected the wear on these...

especially after months of wear/a few soaks/washes

People tend to make bigger deals out of things...considering how the denims end up long-term

These are ~2 years old (on/off wear for most...daily recently) and are still tough as nails..I do hang dry, and I think I will keep doing so.

edit: I did a lot of machine washing/drying with my warehouse 660's and the wear/color loss is considerable after a long period of time.

I reckon if you want to keep more indigo, hang drying isn't a bad way to go (I'm no expert though)

    660's (contest) #116

Comparison from a while ago on BiG site: sufu660_116_web.jpghttp://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=184&Itemid=51

    to now...

    DSCN2051.JPG

    DSCN2052.JPG

I did a shit ton of work outdoors (arboretum stylee) during the contest, so the 660's have seen a lot of washes and beatings..they are now the chill time jean..

I got the 007's during that first run, and they ended up getting covered in tons of tree sap during some cleanup after a thunderstorm took a huge branch out of a several hundred year old pine...they still smell pretty good this many years later (i've washed them a lot), but the wear was slowed a bit due to the coverage. They are aging nicely..

The 864s are the daily pair in the collection. I got them in the winter/early spring of 08, and they're really just beginning to break. I kept them mainly as a weekend jean for a while so the wear is consistent, but Eternal denim is just so ill...they like the sunshine.

I've never really had a problem with any of these in the several years- one slight seam issue with the 660s was stitched over, and hasn't fallen out since. I wash them when they need it, mainly handwash with Dr. B's- take care of your denims and they will last for a long time....troofs.

  8. Haha, naw I just meant it might be uncomfortable.

depends on your shape, the size of your junk

    and how you wear them

if you have no beer gut and you tend to wear your jeans a little lower anyway, they are fine- pretty straight fit, you just can't pull them up to your actual waist (or your junk will suffer).

Personally my other denims are all mid/higher rise, and it's nice having a different cut to alternate.

think of a more 'regular' cut and just take off the top couple of buttons. when you sit down you don't have as much bunching in the Groinal Regions

  9. ipkus = epic.

    must wait for rep, etc..

I love the way this denim gradually changes texture over time- a little bit more slubbiness with each wash...teeeeeeny bits here and there

  10. mine combust every time i use machines

so i hand wash (ALWAYS indoors)

then strap them to my car (SOMETIMES outdoors)

then drive really really really really fast

    to maintain crispiness

    and creasification.

I recommend driving outdoors, as it's safer.

  11. ow many buttons do they have? im waiting for my 864's to come in the post how did you size?

two buttons..they sit on the hips

My sizing has been odd with denims- I can't stand the ultra skinny look, mainly because I have footballers legs, so I prefer some room in the thigh (and calf), but my waist is always a bit smaller than the size I need..

...on top of all of that, I've lost a significant amount of weight.

    When I purchased the 864's I picked up a 34" (I was a 33)..tried them on @BIG

I'm around a 30" now....the fit on everyone in this thread looks pretty good, and that's what you get. I think I may wear mine a little lower/roomier (so I can maintain in the skreets)

they do run true to size imo, especially One Wash.
