  1. Yeah that's true. Generally you want to hold back on the first wash; maybe a couple of months. But after that, a wash every month is good to preserve the health of the denim. I also remember reading something about people who washed their contest Samurais monthly got the best results.

  2. It all depends on how hard you wear them. But Samurais retain their indigo very well so you can wash whenever you want pretty much. Ultimately, Jeans are still jeans and they're meant to be wash so don't put fading in front of sanitation.

    Thanks chaps. Looks like the 510 for me. I notice it comes in 15, 19 and 21 oz... how do you choose? Is heavier better for cold weather?

    It really depends on how hard you wear your jeans. The heavier the thicker which usually means less holes/rips. I personally like heavier denim but I only wear my jeans to school so lighter denim would probably be more ideal for me but I don't think the difference is that large.
