What is the best way to get high contrast on denim?

I just got s5000vx's but they are 36 length and i want to get them hemmed down to 34" so i can have about 2 inches to cuff. If i soak them after will they shrink to much and leave me with not enough length after I've had them hemmed. Also i see alot of people putting their jeans on when their still damp after they've soaked them, is that a good idea? And how long should i soak them for (i am new to samurai's)?

Im new to Samurai. I just got a friend to pick me up a pair of S5000VX (W30L36) from blueingreen and ive got a little over an inch of slack in the waste. Im wondering if there gonna be too tight after i soak them? I need them hemmed as well, do you guys recommend getting them hemmed before or after soaking them? Also what are some slimmer cuts of samurai?
