PM sent for Classic purple selvage raw, szW32.
0 -
Just ordered these from BiG. Don't like the fit. Worn twice; once around the house for about 45 mins and once out for about 4 hours. Perfect shape. Denim is thick (18oz!), unfaded and very stiff. Measurement chart (see size 32) in link is accurate. Paid $250 plus $15 shipping. Yours for $215 shipped anywhere in the US ($225 anywhere else).

Shrinkage on 872's? This is a pair of 34" measured ala BiG that have been hot washed and then hot tumble dried;
Measurement Before After
front rise 300 290
back rise 425 415
upper thigh 315 310
inseam 880 860
knee 245 240
hem 225 220
till
ps: get metricated
What about the waist?

Good post. I'm kinda a stickler for quality too. I also hate it when a great company starts to cut corners as they grow. Not saying that's what happened here but it does happen. Alden makes awesome shoes. Whenever I need new shoes, dress or casual, I always check out Alden's first.

Great post! The thing that interests me is that the stitching (not sure what the correct technical term is) on the first Indy is much finer (closer together) than on the second. I have a relatively new pair of Indy's and the stitching is closer to the second pair pictured. When did you purchase the first pair? I wonder if that's a cost/time saving measure by Alden?

Okay...they're both beautiful. Buy both....cut them in half, and sew them together. Think of the direct comparison value!
You win. Ordered both. Doubt I'll be cutting either in half though. . .

Oni Red or Eternal 872?

Umm, I think you got them mixed around. He's wearing them a bit too high, up towards his waist (belly-button-ish), so he should slouch slightly and wear them lower down towards his hips...
B/c as originally stated, if he was rockin' them below his hips, then they'd be hanging low near his junk...and if he had to pull them down to his waist, then it meant he was hanging that shit up hella high on his ribs, haha.
+1. I noticed that too but I don't think I could have explained it as well as you did.

Thanks (FWIW, I pump'd your rep)!

I'm considering ordering a pair of Eternal 872's. Can anyone advise me on how much these might stretch? Denim seems pretty thick; if they don't stretch much I may get a 33 or 34 instead of my true 32 (I like to wear my jeans loose and slightly low). Thx!

I've seen the BiG chart but could you post measurements? Also, any chance of a price drop?

ignoring the chinos for a minute
there's vintage flight jackets on there

RL has managed to cater to a wide variety of tastes over the years
Here's an interesting read on RL's attempt to do exactly that (aka' date=' take over the world).

Is the Frontier Limitee selvage? If not, do they still produce the Frontier selvage model?
No, it is not. Its a very heavy denim with an odd texture. Worth a try if you have the spare change. (I ended up turning my pair over on eBay for a slight loss.) For general questions about ALD I recommend emailing the guys at 'www.drytillyoudie.nl' directly. They were extremely helpful with specific measurements, etc. on the three orders I placed with them.

FS: NWT Oni Red (32) & Oni Killer Chino (32)
in supermarket
Posted
Selling two items I recently ordered from BiG (which gives truly excellent service). Both are from Oni and are size 32. I don't really like the fits of either and don't want to deal with a store credit. PM me if you are interested. Thx!
First is the Oni Red (relaxed fit) jean (with the second generation Oni leather patch). These are new with tags; tried on once. Made of 14oz Japanese denim with a very distinctive textured weave. I paid $225 plus shipping ($15). Yours for $200 shipped anywhere in the US. See link for size chart.

Second is the Oni Killer Chino (with the original Oni leather patch). These have been owned for less than a week (worn 3 or 4 times). They were hot soaked once so they have seen minor shrinkage. Waist: 33.5, Inseam: 34.25, Front Rise: 11.75, Thigh at Crotch: 12.25, Knee: 9.25, Hem 8.75. I paid $175 plus shipping ($15). Yours for $125 shipped anywhere in the US.
