  1. producers who wine about people using Fruity Loops are insecure.

the fact is, is that theres been amazing tracks made in fruity loops before, just as theres been with MPC's, just as theres been plenty of terrible tracks with both.

the producer makes the music, not the software or hardware.

you can argue all day about the 'warmth' of the mpc's processors or whatever, but a computer in a box with pads and a computer in a box with a keyboard can ellicit the same sound with the right knowledge, tools, and execution. the difference is marginal.

believe it or not, computers are the future.

  2. No problem...

I wouldn't completly write off Tes One though, if you're down to spend $300//$400 you might want to message him on myspace and see if he has any smaller pieces he'd let go for that much. I can actually message my boy who's tight with him and ask if that'd be an option... I'll get back to you.

  3. well...

If your budget was bigger, I'd say get a piece from Tes One, as his can get up to 4 - 6 feet long (depending), a few feet high, and painted on plywood. They would be an amazing focal point to the room.

But you're talking low thousands for one of his works.

BUT, if you're into more urban inspired art (as above), I'd recommend some prints from an LA based artist named Fatoe. All my sigs/avatars are pieces of his work, he's got an amazing layered digital style that incorporates drawn work as well as photoshop. All his prints (when bought via his website) are hand signed, numbered, and for the ones i copped, he added spray paint of his own to the pieces and dipped the printed photo paper into paint before he sent them, so each print has their own unique touch. You can buy prints through his website here or even get prints on canvas from imagekind.

  4. Whatup...

So I read about this company in esquire this month, it's a merging of the minds between Diego Della Valle of Tod's and Luca Di Montezemolo of Ferrari. The company is built around the aviator styles of the 1930's with updated materials and lenses.

I found a model of their's, the WE020 (pictured below), that I'm really trying to get my hands on. I've looked online for this particular model, but to no avail.

Does anyone know where I could find this online, or order via phone thru a store, or the like?

    Thanks in advance!

    The new Editors record lately.

Impressive what Paul Epworth can do to a bands sound.

He took Bloc Party from angsty adolescents to indie superheroes and it looks as if he's done a number on this record. The drums have his instantly noticable thump and the addition of piano and string arrangements have really fleshed out this bands sound beyond just some weak Interpol imitators. If anyone wants a link, let me kno.
