  1. It's always sunny is one of the few funny shows that is still running

Mad Men is getting kind of lame now but it's good at the start

I haven't seen any of season 2 of Eastbound but season 1 was ok...the stuff with Will Ferrel and Craig Robinson is funny (If you haven't watched any of it)

  2. i really liked ronin a lot if you haven't seen it

double edit: watching My Son, My Son What Have Ye Done?

i didnt realize this was based on that thing thing from san diego until he started talking about driving across the coronado bridge. Funny moment. Anyway, good. Agree with jmatsu definitely better than the last one.

I saw this last year and enjoyed it. Herzog was at the screening and it was funny having him try to explain that scene in the woods with the midget. Then he took offense to someone saying it was very 'david lynch.' His response was that what lynch does is 'Herzogian' or something like that.

His new movie "caves of forgotten dreams" is really good...I just saw it about a week ago

  3. Tabloid (Errol Morris' new documentary) which was actually my favorite movie I saw at TIFF this year

    Picture9-5.png

    Black Swan, certainly worth seeing...

    Picture10-3.png

New Woody Allen movie, again quite good...best part was hearing Woody Allen introduce the movie, he hasn't lost his charm

  5. I wouldn't stop getting tattoos because so many other people have them, but at the same time I empathize...it's really annoying how many people have them.

I think getting them in places that you don't see often is a good idea. Go get your ribs done or something, hardly anyone has large tattoos there.

  6. Very true soap, valid points. This is however an internet discussion forum, so obviously there are going to be people for and against said topic.

I disagree but I'm not fuming behind my screen right now. I ve been saved from jumping on bandwagons by other peoples opinions.Whether I agree or disagree it still provokes thought, which is good. Imo

I really couldn't care less who buys the phone and who doesn't, just stating my opinion, nothing more nothing less. If people didn't want any criticism at all, then maybethis thread should state " only post if you love apple"

I still think its great phone man, just not as revolutionary as some think, that's all. Many of these features have been out on other phones for eons. If it serves your needs and you love it that's all that matters in the end

Oh and I think I forgot to mention that, since I am in Canada, the iphone really is the best phone for my wants/needs. If I lived south of the border, I'd already own an Evo most likely...so yeah haha, the iphone isn't the best in my eyes even

  7. New to this thread, at least posting in it...

Got in a wreck the other day going around 60, sudden stop in front and I tipped it and ran into the guy in front (he had no damage).

Does anyone have experience with bike wrecks and dealing with insurance? Everyone I have talked with (the guys from the tow company, personal friends) have said that the bike is a total write off, but the insurance company wants me to take it to a bike shop to assess for repairs. I know a bit about bikes, and the whole front end is missing, fairings gone, clutch lever snapped etc. and who knows what else so I would rather they just go look at it and write it off because I wouldn't feel comfortable riding the bike after being repaired (obviously they could miss some damage in the frame etc., and no one wants to buy a bike that has been in a wreck).

I am basically asking, is this normal for insurance companies to make you tow the bike to a shop to assess the cost of repair? I was under the impression they just had assessors do that wherever the bike was...

PM me if you can help me out I have never dealt with this kind of shit before so I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks

Yeah exactly, people are going to want what they want. Even if it is overpriced for what you get, if it does exactly what you want it to, what is the difference....

I wasn't speaking to you specifically about getting worked up. I was more referring to earlier posts of some just talking down the phone like it's crap. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and you weren't saying anything that is factually incorrect. All I really meant about this thread is, I don't know why people would be reading it and be surprised at all the love the phone is getting and let that get them angry. Certainly anyone can post whatever they want in here...it just won't do any good for the most part haha.

Definitely not revolutionary by any means, but I have had a good experience with the iphone 3G I am currently sporting, and it's about time for something new. I may be less enchanted with this new one once I get it, only time will tell ;)

  9. Well, to be honest I am impartial towards apple. I recognize when the stuff they release is shit (i.e. will never buy an ipad in it's current form) but this phone is an improvement and while it may not support flash, which I personally have not missed on my iphone 3G, I still think I am going to buy one.

Apple addressed the major problems that I had with my 3G, and I just like the layout, ipod, size and shape and the touch screen. That is why I (and many other people) have an iphone.

The one thing I do find funny is people getting so worked up about what other people buy specifically when it comes to apple. Yeah a lot of people go after the hype, who cares? Really, do I give a fuck what phone someone has that I am never going to talk to? Your _____ has more features than the new iphone...unfortunately the features you like are not the same as the ones other people like. The fact that people have different preferences is the only thing that makes this world interesting...

  10. speechless? this shit is the same phone but with video calling? wow, so cool. that shitll get old real quick if im somewhere im not supposed to be and i my girl is wanting to video talk. funny how apple can make a video and introduce this amazing new phone but it's the same damn phone but with video calling - add some corny ass music and people go crazy to throw down some cash.

i'll stick with my blackberry and my macbook pro.

These types of posts are so pointless. Yeah your blackberry is a necessity of life, I am sure you absolutely needed that shit when it came out. That shit probably got old real quick. And I am sure that shit was miles different from the previous blackberry model released before the one you bought.

No one needs these phones, people WANT them because they are new, have some different features, are faster, better battery life etc. and cost the same as the old ones did when they came out. Seriously, it's the iphone 4 thread, obviously people are going to be on here loving the iphone because they like the features, or need a new phone and want to see what other people think.

Let me sum my post up: Thanks for contributing nothing to this conversation

  11. Yeah agreed Broken flowers is entertaining, if only for Bill Murray's incredible dead pan performance, but nothing to write home about

Yeah I kind of liked Broken Flowers for some reason. It was one of those movies that didn't blow me away but left me feeling satisfied. As someone else articulated, I wouldn't write home about it, although I may watch it again some time...

  12. Alot of people say I'm gonna want a bigger bike, I most likely will but I want a good amount of riding experience before I go bigger. During the MSF course, my main problem was that I kept stalling. So I'm hoping to fix that.

Yeah don't worry about stalling, you will get over that really quick once you start riding more. The biggest thing is getting your shifting down going into corners

It's always better to start too small rather than too large. That thing will be lacking power once you get used to it, but if you have a budget, it will be great on gas (and insurance).

  13. /\ I saw that the other day, thought it was pretty average from about half way onwards

Yeah at the half point it became quite mediocre. I sort of wish the movie continued on being about actual street art and not some clown. Does anyone have any idea if the whole mr brainwash shit was real? I keep reading it was made up...

  14. That's a hard question to answer without knowing how big it is and where it's going to go. I think it would look alright in a number of places, but you'd want it to be pretty large, on your ribs or as a sleeve...
