  1. Picked up the Teal Fisherman jacket, Egyptian cotton tshirts, and Slim cut jeans last week. Jeans are, in my opinion, better than APC NS, given the price, gingham pockets, and thicker denim with no stretch issues. The Teal jacket was an excellent match with their jeans. And their t-shirts felt really nice against the skin.

Flash the card as soon as I saw myself in the mirror with the jacket, tshirt and jeans. The whole thing worked together.

Discovered the shop a year ago and James remembered me since then. Nice touch.

Special thanks to Alastair, James and Thomas for their help.

  2. My RRDS back pockets have holes in them. I'm planning to half line the pocket. Can anyone recommend suitable lining material in terms of thickness and type of material? The tailor that I normally use is ex Savile Row but he only has suit pocket lining which is in my view too thin to line the back pockets.

  3. only sneaker i've really liked so far in this thread is this one. anyone know where i can pick this one up or something extremely similar? yoox is sold out

Selfridges and Zee & Co, both in London, have TST Sneakers in stock. I'm not too impressed with them though radical designs for those who like to be different. The sole was a bit thin with a very wide fitting. As for sizing, I'm a UK size 8 in Adidas and it would appear that I'm a UK size 7 (41) in TSTs with ample space for my toes. I don't think I'll be buying anymore trainers this year. I'm very happy with my recent purchases:

YMC Patent leather (a pair of light grey and a pair navy blue)

    German Army Sneakers (4 pairs)

Springcourt leather trainers (a black pair and a white pair)

  4. RRDS - July 2005

Gibaud jeans - Dec 2006 (bad purchase because I felt sorry for the shop! The detail is not bad, not dissimilar to G-star but does not campare to Japanese denim)

Pure Blue Japan - Dec 2006

    Ande Whall - Jan 2006

    Oni Blues - Feb 200

I figure I need to purchase more jeans to make up the gap between July 2005 & December 2006. Plus another four or five pairs for this year.

  5. Skull 5000XX, Eternal 811, or PBJ XX-005?

Right now I have a pair of Dior 19cm and Nudie Bootcut Olas and am starting to feel the urge for some new denim.

Personally for me it would be a straight choice between the Eternal & PBJ. The fabric is totally different to each other so I guess it would depend on your preference.

The Skull is out of the equation for me since the inseam is way too long and too slim in the thigh. Although you can hem the Skulls I tend to think it would upset the balance of the jeans.

  6. I received my Oni Blues from Parachute last Monday. He kept me informed where necessary. I appreciated that he was busy so I allowed him time to respond to my emails. Everything was shipped according to my instructions. Well done Parachute.

It's a shame he has stopped his service since I was planning to get my SDA 103's next.

  7. Sorry to confuse everyone but I haven't noticed that much stretching though they have loosen by a small fraction. I'm just wondering whether the one wash pbj doesn't stretch as much as the raw soaked pbj. Worth discussing I think.

  8. I've seen the indigo slimcut version in Selfridges two weeks ago but didn't buy it manly because the sales staff didn't seem to know anything about the denim properties ie stretching/shrinking issues. There are other knowledgeable shops about so I was willing to wait for the right moment. I was debating whether to start a thread about this butI wasn't sure whether people would be interested in PRPS stuff.

  9. There is a guy called Jonathan who works in the Evisu section at Selfridges. He's very knowledgeable about denim but he is an Evisu man so don't expect him to know about other brands. Gareth is also good.

    ;)

  10. dude. this is a message board. maybe you should just fly to poly's house and kick his ass. that would teach him for typing mean things to you over the grey inanimate box. i'm on your side champ, rudeness shouldnt be tolerated from total strangers you never meet. ass hat.

back to denim..........i just got a pair of the blues....fucking amazing quality denim. i cant wait to see how these things evolve.

I agree, rudeness shouldn't be tolerated from anybody especially when unprovoked. It's clear from his posts that he specifically set out to undermine me. Fortunately for him I did not take off my gloves this time but merely went up half a notch and dealt with him appropriately. I also agree about violence being a more satisfying solution and have kicked people's doors down (two to date).

Back to the jeans, hopefully my Oni Blue should be arriving in the UK sometime next week. If they are equally as good as my Pure Blue Japans then I'll be happy again! ;)

  11. Urban Outfitter don't carry them and neither do American Classics - although their stock changes quite often. As Viv said, Interstate is the place to go, they carry the Nashville, Greenville and used to (may still have) Sen.

I've seen the Edwins in Urban Outfitters in their Oxford St and High Kensington branches last few year. I'm not sure if they are selling them this season though.

Interstate is reputed to have the smallest changing rooms in London.

  12. it's highly unlikely that you're ever going to get anyone on an internet message board to apologize to you for giving their opinion. unless they're just a huge gaping pussy pushover.

it's kinda like asking george bush to take troops out of iraq

People are entitled to their views but not personal attacks. It's obvious Poly wants to play the denial game about his behaviour but this is not helping to heal the rift. I'm offering him a way out of his embarrassing situation.

  13. looks like we have a dick measuring contest. my guess is dick danger is in for the win. unless you guys let me join, of course

I'm willing to forgive and forget if Poly apologises for his actions. I couldn't care less about a dick measuring contest but I do draw the line with personal attacks on me.

  14. damn, you sure told him....since you're too cool for the forum why don't you just leave, or just give up and move on to another thread

I just did not like his behaviour towards me and felt the need to set the record straight. I don't take prisoners during times of conflict. However, the bigger picture is that I prefer to get on with everybody and if Poly apologises then I'm willing to forget about this incident and move on. I'm usually easy going but this would not deter me to defend my corner during times of conflict. But I am disappointed about his behaviour towards me because it was so unnecessary. There are lots of wonderful people on this forum and I certainly don't want my experiences ruined by a few people.

  15. it was a generalized statement since you said you came here being able to dress yourself. If you came here with the intention of having us dress you, than i feel sorry for you. I read what you said already. no need to tell me.

Let me clear on your points

    • I'm happy with my dress sense and it is unlikely that I would be following anyone's advice on this matter
    • I'm here on this forum to learn more about denim, sizing issues and to see what jeans are out there
    • I've made some excellent purchases (clothes) without any influence from SuFu or SF whatsoever and will continue to do so

I'm just wondering whether you are playing a game of politics by deliberately misreading my posts. Either way, it would not stop me from getting onto another level or change my prospects.

Please give me shout if don't understand my points poly800rock but don't try to misconstrue my words as it is not necessary. But if you continue to go down this route then don't be surprised if I give you some serious criticism back. You are not exactly a symbol for perfection in any shape or form. Nor is your dress sense is anything to write home about. I suggest you move on for your sake and behave decently towards me in future.

  16. if you found this forum with the intention of trying to have someone dress you, than i feel sorry for you....

No need to feel sorry for me since you have misread my post. I've always been happy with my dress sense.

Read below what I had posted earlier.

I don't claim to be an expert as I'm still on the learning curve but I'm more than capable in dressing myself up without anyone's help. I have no style icons and like I said before I don't want to rely too much on information SuFu. I believe in individuality rather than being another clone. I will continue to SuFu until the day when all the Japanese denim reaches the shores of the UK. Then I'll be able to assess the clothing according to my preferences and not rely on others. I'm very happy with nearly all of my purchases over the last few years. So it will be matter of time before I'm on another level!
  17. I guess your post is not relevant then...

Sometimes it can be difficult to find specific information on SuFu but usually get there in the end with perseverance! I was wearing Japanese selvedge denim well before I found SuFu. So for me, being on SuFu is just a natural progression to obtaining further hard to get Japanese denims which are mostly unobtainable in London. 18. Try the following places in London:

    • LA1 - Camden Town

    • Harrods - Knightsbridge

    • Urban Outfitters - Oxford Street

    • Son of Stag - Drayton Walk, Off Brick Lane

Microzines used to have them - not sure now. There are some more places but I'm struggling to remember them for the moment.
