  1. Anyone see if the RAF hightops had any discount?

They were discounted but I can't remember by how much - no more then 20%. Certainly not enough to get me interested.

I went after work, nothing I really wanted unless it was at bargain prices. Tried on the umbro hightops but I need a size 10, they were an alright price at $160. Had a passing interest in a Corpus jacket, I might go back and have another look.

Headed to General Pants after as they are having a sale and I've had my eye on a Modern Ammusement cardigan from there. It was a good price $80 down from $140 so at least my evening wasn't a waste.

  2. ^ was at incu today as well and was preety keen on the blue raf button up, diddnt end up getting it but.

For skinny ties you should go to Our Spot, they stock two quality black ones (nom de guerre maybe?), but its not my style so have no idea of brand/price.

I'm pretty sure the one at Our Spot is Beat Poet.

  3. Hey Jaxy

Herringbone in the QVB have skinny ties but I can't be sure of colour - also they are $100+ and I can't really recomemend the quality unfortunately - their shirts are great but ties go a funny shape (in my exp).

As mentioned before incu have skinny ties but I haven't seen a black one there for ages.

The nudie store has these skinny leather ties which are pretty rad - again i dont remember colours besides silver.

Department stores?? The skinny tie thing is pretty comercial now.

If worst comes to worst Dangefield is sure to have one... you can pick up some cheesy skull or 70's punk rock repro tee's while your at it!

Incu have a black Filippa K tie for $179 (ouch!). They also have a few Filippa K suits which were absolutely fantastic. Were even cheaper then the skinny suit I tried on in Calibre. They have restocked on Marc by Marc and have a lot of pieces in (for Australia). Jackets, shirts, pants, etc.

I spent the day shopping with my wife (I wasn't meant to buy anything). I ended up getting a Raf by Raf button up. I was a little skeptical, particularly because they are so plain, but once I tried it on I had to have it. The cut and fit was just awesome. I go into Incu a lot and there is nothing that I even remotely want to try on, but today they just had a bucketload.

For the ladies, DJ's is having a sale at the moment and there a quite a few Mad Cortes summer season items on the rack at pretty reduced prices, limited sizes though.

Edit: btw, picked up a pair of kung fu shoes...

  4. I reckon SABA has been overlooked as well. They usually make decent stuff. Only seen them at DJ's though, do they have a flagship store?

Yeah, in Sydney, its down the bottom of Myer near Morrissey / Peter Alexander / etc.

Like everyone else I'm also looking for a skinny dior inspired suit for an event I have coming up - any ideas in sydney? I've tried on a nice one in Calibre but it had peak lapels with some odd stitching - that and it was called their "Rockstar" model which left a sour taste in my mouth.

  5. I went to Supply again today and was unimpressed. Boring, overpriced stuff IMO.

But I guess I am wearing less and less "street wear" type clothes these days.

I have to agree. Nothing in Supply caught my eye when I was there yesterday. Feit shoes looked ok, but I really didn't see a colourway / style combo that I liked enough to wear - the huge FEIT on the back of most of them annoyed me no end.

Sydney shopping is pretty good. Much better then Brisbane where I previously lived - though I do miss Harbourtown and make a point of going there whenever I'm up in Brisbane. Digging through the David Jones outlet for the few gems is great fun.

Ourspot would probably be my favourite shop at the moment because I'm a sucker for Rittenhouse - really love their clothes.

I to am very sick of the usual Stussy / Zoo York / Mossimo / etc that seems to be stocked everywhere. I have real trouble finding reasonably priced well made clothes that don't have any logos or huges prints. I like Marcs basics because they fit me well but you really have to wait until they are on sale (which is fairly often) because the t-shirts aren't worth $40.

Does anyone know a place in Sydney that has a good selection of Marc Jacobs?

Ugliest shoes ever made. There is no right or left, just shoe. If you lose one, you can just buy one.

I've had too many weekend encounters with construction/outdoorsy types wearing these orthopedic disasters and Maui Jim's. The funny thing is they come in weaing Maui Jim's asking me if I carry Maui Jims...Testing my coolness, I guess. I tell them it's too high end for us.

    LOL! I can't say that I own a pair.

  7. Maui Jim - decent lenses, tired styles. And every meathead in Teva sandals seems to own a pair...I honestly don't understand the appeal.

Vintage or vintage inspired is the look these days.

The appeal to me was the quailty of the lenses. A lot of fashionable sunglasses just don't have it. You are correct that they certainly aren't trying to break any style barriers.

    Teva sandals?
