^ That's another great option - thx bro!

^ Thanks tiger! Hmm - didn't even think of the shrinkage factor. Hope they will still fit after a wash!
Edit: Yea, the price makes a little extra customization easy to take... You mean they were even less last year? Great value!

^ I'm conflicted on the collar... It is pretty big, altho tigerprawn hit on a great use for it... I was thinking of having it trimmed down a tad, and perhaps lining it with corduroy. Fit pic:

I'm positive it's Cone. They have a pretty special relationship with them, especially since they're within an hour of each other. Mine has the White Oak plant label on the right pocket where the signatures are.
Great pickup-- and they look great on ya, man.
yep, its cone. Thanks for the kind words & cone confirmation guys! And thanks shubha & sweapea! Sweapea, the Raleighs are a fairly slim/straight fit - might be worth looking at. I think the N&F that dkatz posted are slim as well - I have a pair of unbleached Weird Guys and it's a nice, slim cut.
Shubha, the women in the family definitely spoil me! When my sister found the Raleighs, she also found a pair of LVC ducks - the older model with the yoke. I can't make out the size marking, but I think it will fit our daughter!
And yea - post those IH loggers of yours!

Sweapea - welcome! That's a great fit! Will come back for you after I spread! Nice to see Fardin back too!
ADH - superb shots!
The weekend was pretty laid back - washed the RxC, took our little girl to check out the hundreds of monarch butterflies that are about, walked the pups… Somehow it went by so fast! Some pics
Butterflies galore! Not even close to Zeen's magnificent shots!
And even more caterpillars popping out!
Old-timer, enjoying the day
Post-wash RxC - will take some better indoor shots when I get a moment…
They didn't shrink in length, but happily did tighten up a bit - good thing as they had gotten really bagged out
Parting shot

My sister found these Raleighs at a resale place - really like the fabric. Actually it looks identical to the LVC duck - can anyone confirm if it is, in fact, Cone?

Lax, ADH - good stuff! -Z-, that's probably the best I've seen from you since you left home - nice!
RxC xpost...
Did a little "tour" over the weekend - had an awesome time! The RxC played a very minor role in driving there/back, and chilling in the evenings.
No great photography here - just brought my point-and-shoot...
A small sampling of the supplies I brought along
Endless hills
Local colour
Great views
About 50 of us did the ride. This wasn't a sanctioned event - a few of us hardcore nuts found this year's schedule to be lacking in excitement, so we organized a private race - 200 miles with about 22000ft elevation gain!
Most of the guys left either Saturday night after the race, or early Sunday. But about 15 of us stayed and did an easy 100k Sunday morning. That's when a buddy snapped this pic of me.
I'm standing in front of Bopple hill, which was the final hill of our race. Bopple hill has just under 700ft of climbing in about 3/4 of a mile. Its steepest section is a 23% grade…
I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to a couple of weeks out of the saddle before cross season starts!
Just to keep things on topic - the last shots of my RxC, before they go into the wash this week. They're kinda dingy & dirty, it's time..

It was an amazing summer weather (and other-) -wise, and it's been a beautiful start to fall.
We've been taking the pups to their usual haunts - long walks in parks & on the beach. So lucky to live close to places like this!
Not as crowded now, of course, and sorry Ranon - this post is SFW!
Out on the lake, seems like everyone is trying to get that last bit of sailing/boating in while the good weather lasts.
Our evening views!
Now I'm going to go finish loading the car. I'm heading off to do the last sportive of the season: 200 miles, with 22000ft of elevation gain! We start at 6AM tomorrow…..
Have a great weekend guys!

Always a traveling gal, Rel!
Xpost from RxC... The weekly catch-up…. Now that the little one is back to school, and the summer guests/family have gone home, we are back to more of a "routine" here.
We went to catch the last car meet. Lot's of goodies on display.
Because it was the final meet of the year, they had BBQ's & "entertainment". The entertainment was in the form of…. ELVIS! Three of them actually. Mercifully, I missed the first performance
Plenty of mullets in attendance!
It was all pretty meh……. Until "Marilyn" made an unexpected appearance. Assholes kept getting in the way of my shots!

^ Waterproof/breathable jackets have either a coating or a membrane - like Gore. If the membrane gets dirty, it "clogs" up and will no longer breath. Hence the need to keep it clean. Because many commercial washing products will also clog the pores, Gore has it's recommended cleaning products (Nikwax, etc).
Re wearing in winter - the warmth of a jacket depends on it's ability to trap the heat generated by your body. Uninsulated jackets by themselves - like shells - don't trap heat well. If you layer underneath, with fleece, etc, you'll be plenty warm.
Edit: It's often recommended to throw your shell into the dryer after washing - this is where the "heating" you mentioned comes in. The heat reactivates the "DWR" (durable water-repellant coating), which makes precipitation bead up and run off the jacket, instead of wetting out.

Thanks guys! It's a FH flannel I bought off the 'bay a few years back - nice, thick material, with a curry/brown houndstooth pattern
For those who asked, the boots are 6 inch SJ on the NW last, in red dog rough-out.
