  1. tg76- funny you say that, as an art school student took the first one :D

    diamond- thank you !

bangbangbang- those vans that i am wearing are 2 sizes too big, so when i put together the outfit, that was my main concern. you nailed it! i will try to match my slimmer pair the next time. thanks!

  2. i missed Champion's last show in Seattle but some of the video clips i saw on youtube are insane.

Champion's last show was quite awesome, I don't think I have ever seen El C that packed (and of course, the bar empty as I like it).

Lots of cool reunion shows happened too; Contingent's show was great.... but I think nothing beat the insanity of Trial's reunion. That was a solid show.

  3. woa nice topic.

    old:

    +cro mags

    +black flag

    +judge

    +bad brains

    +kill your idols

+gorilla biscuits (and gayrilla biscuits too, of course)

    +sheer terror

+zero boys (not hc but had to throw it in because their 1st was amazing)

    new:

+municiple waste (i peed my pants when i heard these kids were in their early 20's)

    +terror (don't hate)

    then the jap stuff:

    +rocky and the sweden

    +shiro

    +tetsu-array

    and so on.

on the side note, joe coffee(sheer terror paul's new band)'s lyrics are so wrong, it's borderline hilarious.

  4. dismalfuture- i am planning on soaking myself in soon-dubu chigae and bibim bap while i'm there! i had no idea won was so strong, thanks for the tip!

joen- do you know if there is some sort of a show listing? i couldn't find it on his site, and when i googled that name i got bombarded with a k-pop idol... thank you for the tip. i will definitely try to hit his shop while i'm there!

  5. Wow. Lots of Seattle people.

I'm gonna be enrolling back to UW soonish.

And yes, Logan Hicks is quite amazing, and am excited to his work in person.

  6. Speaking of non-Japanese folks in Japan. I read some thing the other day on the makeup of the foreign population living there and it noted something like 15% of foreigners there are Brazilian.......crazy. I just thought the Brazilian strippers I met in Roppongi were an anomaly.

as far as i know.... in early 1900's, Japan and Brazil signed an agreement for Brazil to accept 1000 Japanese immigrants per year to fill the lack of man power in the coffee/farming industry. I know Brazil has the second highest population of Japanese in the world (240,000 Japanese immigrants and couple million Japanese-Brazilians), and the Japanese government gives working visas up to 4th generation Japanese-Brazilians. So considering that, it makes sense that there are so many Brazilian population in Japan.

  7. Another seattle-er.

    Welcome.

    No hate, male/female?

Like about everything but the creepers, which are something that i'm not sure i would ever like... would have to see them in person though.

thanks, i'm happy to find another seattlelite. are there more?

didn't think i'd be into creepers again after locking them up for 8yrs in my closet, but as a punk rock alumini, they brought me back great memories of the past!

i'm a girl by the way:)

  8. my first time posting.
