haha. I'm surprised I don't run into/see more people around there. I work around there every day so yeah.
edit: Actually, I'm surprised I don't run into Dino at all especially considering I live 2 blocks away from FIT.

Falafel's at Mamoun's are better, but Yatagan has wayyyyyy better meat in general.

Having only spent time in the Bay Area, Portland and Los Angeles since I have been into coffee, I have been so pleased with Stumptown, Intelligentsia, Barefoot, and Ritual Roasters that I haven't really tried much else. Grumpy's uses Ritual Roasters beans, although I don't know if they use other beans as well, so what you have right now may, or may not be Ritual. Stumptown and Intelligentsia are both available in Manhattan, although I don't have a list of specific locations at the moment.
Yeah, that one's from Ritual, and they usually carry Intelligentsia and.. I forget. I've had stumptown at Ninth Street, really great, but I hear they're switching to Intelligentsia, so I'll have to find somewhere else that serves stumptown.
does anyone have any recs for either LAMILL or Intelligentsia?
coffee not espresso
Was a really big fan of Intelligentsia's Yirgacheffe when I tried it out a few months ago.

sup new coffee
tastes great. Really smooth, the description of 'milk chocolate undertones' actually fits really well.
First time I've actually brewed french press myself. Dunno why I've never done so before-- way better than drip.
also: any recent coffee recs/favorite roasters?

Will get rest tomorrow. I'll try to ship tomorrow, but if not, then no later than Saturday.

Definitely. Abraco is the best. <3 Jamie.
Grumpy is my regular though since it's the closest to my place.

Does that place use those fancy clover machines?
My regular place (cafe grumpy, nyc shoutouts yaaaallllllll) uses em. Loves how they taste. Definitely different than drip/stove/etc. coffee. More pure tasting if that makes sense. Brew is usually more clear even if it's black, but not exactly watered down. Really amazing stuff. It definitely pulls the flavor through like nothing else.
edit: also, that's a huge latte/cappucino

sorry dude Don't use slsk. Well, I have it, but I never spent much time learning it/finding stuff on it and all. I'll have another look it it later though and see if I can figure it out.

We should all live in NY.
And then establish a commune/squatter community (what do you call this?).
Roastin' marshmellows. Trashfire songs. Posting as a singular entity on sufu. etc.

haha. It's not that far though. JMZ stops right near the ferry yo. Night travel's (always) a bitch tho, so...

hahahaha.
I'm lazy We will though. My band's still trying to get off our feet and practice etc. hah, we're getting there. somehow.
Also, Paid Vacation: Place to practice near FIT? I live like, right near there. Shoot me details.
Also, jeepz: If you're here next week, you should go to the Titus Andronicus show at Market Hotel (habia sez you don't go to Bushwick though.. ) , it's NJ Punk/Rock stuff-- I think it's up your alley. take a listen to their myspace. Show will be epic.

I think this calls for a NYC jam session.

*still listening to Lovesliescrushing*
Wrrrd. I'll provide ample fuzz, reverb and textures.
You can do your blues-etc riffage
Then we merge like an amoeba with other genres
I'll continue this in that NYC drummer thread.

wow.
The pieces by themselves are already ridiculously amazing, but the hair and makeup is what really pushes this over the top.
I dunno if I dig the gold chains on some of the pieces, but aside from that little quirk, lovelovelove all around.
someone page chadd from RO and tell him to rock this shit makeup and all.
