I'd like a jacket like this, from Mad Men but with a more masculine lapel. Is this the kind of thing where I can just go in to Uni-Qlo/Banana Republic/Wherever and pick out whichever looks best, or should I be looking higher end?

Does anyone have specific recommendations or things I should be looking for when trying them out?

They're from the 'odds' section near the till in a regular Clarks retail store in Manchester.

The joys of living in the UK. These Desert Boots were unmarked in the 'odds' section (the only male pair of shoes there at all, nevermind Clarks Originals). I asked what price they'd be, and after a bit of scurrying at the back they said I could have them reduced from £69 to £20!

If you notice though, each shoe is a slightly different colour. I'm not sure if they started out as a different leather or perhaps one was on display in the sun while the other was hidden away... but yeah. This picture shows it better:

I imagine I could quite easily stain the lighter one on the left as dark as the other, but I prefer the colour of that one... Are there any oils/creams etc. I could apply to the right side? Or is it just a matter of leaving it in the sun on its own for a while?

So I'm in a fortunate position compared to most of you I think in that I'm in the UK living in London.

Where do people go to pick up Clarks originals from B&M stores? Is it as simple as going direct to Clarks? I went past a Schuh and they had some in but they were £69.99 and they didn't have much of a selection.

Looks like it'd be cheaper to just eBay...

How are the Fillipa K coats in terms of value btw? I know that some of their items are meant to be overpriced - is that true of the coats?

Picking out a winter coat is so much effort.

I went along to Selfridges yesterday and tried on a few things. About the best I saw was a Filippa K long coat in beige that was kinda patterned. Can't find a picture of it online but I didn't pick it up anyway as I thought the cut made me look a tad feminine.

Picked up some New Standard 34s today - glad I had a chance to try them on first.

I do a lot of sports and I'm a pretty big guy at 6"2 and 200+ pounds with a 36.5 waist so this was the max I could go down to. I actually managed to squeeze in to some 32s ( ! ) in the store but they were a little too tight in the thighs. Besides 4.5 sizes down is sick.

Think these will be OK? (Note I don't want them SuFu skinny - just looks silly on someone my size)

I'm looking for a 70s era Fred Perry tracksuit like Bill Murray wears in the film.

Ideally on a site/in a place with a lot of colours and that is in the UK or at least ships internationally but so far my searches have been fruitless. Any ideas?

If you start going on the Badger and Blade forums this safety razor stuff can become a bit of an addiction.

Picked up the 'Preumium Quality Down' jacket and the grey cords from the London flagship opening yesterday.

Love the cords. The jacket I expected to hate when I saw it hanging up in the store but I tried it on and it looked right. I'm 6"2 and ~14st mind and this is how the small fits so I'm not sure how well it would work for other people.

How does the sizing run of Band of Outsiders shirts? Haven't been able to find a size chart on any of the websites I've looked at.

I'm more or less always a UK medium (US different?) in other brands and they fit me pretty snug so sometimes I have to size up to a large if the sizes run particularly small.

EDIT: Turns out shopjake have a decent one with all the measurements I was after. Thanks anyway.

What pants are they?

Having had no luck in sports shops I had a look on their website and I still can't find what I'm after.

Basically is there a standard tracksuit pants that you can get in any colour? I want some red ones/white stripes dammit and all the ones I see are always black or blue with crazy 'performance' stripes.

Am I wrong in presuming these mystery pants exists?

this may seem like an obvious question but... do they ship worldwide or only UK?

I was a bit confused with their pants sizing and the customer services were very helpful and have promised to redesign both the size chart and the ordering mechanism so it's less confusing in future.

Can't wait till everything arrives.

All really good but not very comic-y aside from The Boys. They're all more 'grown-up' mind.

This Theory one seems nice, and if you wanted you always have the option of wearing it with the belt too.

I think I prfer the J. Lindeberg but it looks too thick. I haven't seen it in real life yet but it looks more like a coat than a raincoat to me if you know what I mean which isn't what a trench is about for me.

I'm not sure about the process of ordering glasses online.

I know that I need a prescription from any old opticians then I can order online with the prescription in hand. What if the site doesn't offer that service and I can just order the frames? Would an optician be able to create lenses to suit whatever frame it was that I bought and how expensive would that be?
