  1. Does anyone know what the difference in cut is between 1001XX and 1000XX?  I bought a pair of the 1001XX 46 25th Anniversary and am not really fond of the baggy fit, especially around the thighs.  Does anyone know if the 1000XX 25th Anniversary will fit more tapered?  Someone here suggested the measurements are the same as the 1001XX, which would be kind of strange... why would they make the same jeans and have two different model numbers.  Can anyone shed light on this?  I'd hate to spring the $300 and find out the fit is no good.

  2. Maybe you are right.  But if that's the case, why would FC move to something so bland and boring?  I mean there are dozens of companies that make five pocket jeans without any noticeable characteristics, why be one of them?

  3. @Foxy2 Full Count and Orslow already had adapted their products to other markets.  Orslow by placing their tab on the bottom right of the pocket (as opposed to being on the 'levis' side as it is in Japan), and Full Count were already sold in most markets outside of Japan without the arcs and / or tabs.  This move is something different and I really doubt if these companies would have undertaken such a sudden, and potentially damaging move without some kind of pressure.  And if that is indeed the case, I don't see why other companies wouldn't suffer the same kind of threat.  Warehouse have dealt with copyright issues in pretty clever ways, which might legally stand in their favor.  Their tabs aren't technically tabs and their arcs, well, they are 'different' : )  TCB are more exposed but they've been diversifying of late.

Personally, I think the above-mentioned companies are simply responding to the demands of the market.  I blame Levis for not taking up the challenge of producing repros that are any worth.  Their repros are cheaply made, poorly researched and executed, and overpriced considering they are mass-produced.  I love old Levis but I almost never buy any LVC stuff for the above reasons. I think Levis should either leave these companies alone and let them continue their labor of love, which is exactly what they're doing, or start making reproductions that are equivalent in quality and price to what the Japanese are producing.  In other words, let their workers do the talking, instead of their lawyers.  Greedy f.ck.rs.

  4. So I guess that means no more of that... I just ordered a pair of 1101XX with tabs and arcs but they're going fast -act quickly.

For the record, that's a 1101 13.7oz on the left and a 1101XX on the right.  Both a couple of years old.  Don't ask me how many washes, I don't know : )

  5. I wouldn't be surprised if Levis was behind FC dropping the red tab and arcuate.  The red tab inside the right back pocket is a trade mark of Levis, although how true that is in Japan, I'm not sure, since so many Japanese companies use the red tab.  Secondly, the bottom of the FC arc is removable - it is not connected to the upper part, which means that when you remove it, FC jeans look exactly like Levis.  So quite possibly Levis got on their case.  The other thing that makes me think Levis is behind this is that Orslow has also recently announced they were premanently getting rid of the back pocket tab, whether on the side or the bottom of the right pocket.  I guess I'll be looking closely at what happens with Warehouse, TCB, and Samurai, to only name three.  But there's definitely change in the air.
