  1. i moved from austin years ago, its still my favorite place on earth. not a shopping city by any means, i dont know why youd fool yourself about it, either. best thing to do is make friends and take advantage of the lax drug use policies, and beautiful parks and swim holes, etc. the place to shop now looks like factory people on congress, if you are really dying for some "labels".

  2. i have a pretty insane sweats collection. far and above, uniqlo rocks it best (19 bucks for any color). after that, a 9 dollar joe boxer black crew from k-mart. that's day to day wear though, not sure if you wanted something more unique.

  3. wow on one hand im glad i dont wear animal products, on the other im just so so so sad cuz nobody will ever make a shoe this nice without using leather or something else. just want to end it all.

(i asked about it in the first place just cuz i thought they might be canvas)

  4. guaranteed prick clerks (based on 2+ years experience living in nyc) --

    comme des garcons

    APC

supreme (these fellas are almost hilariously sure of themselves)

    nom de guerre

opening ceremony (maybe #1, dunno how these ladies equate working retail with being so cool)

cast and crew at Odin are pricks too

(by now you can tell i never leave downtown, oh well)

    really nice people

    Seven

    salvor kiosk

cloak (RIP, but i swear, i was so surprised by how nice everyone including alexendre himself is)

  5. this sale is officially closed. rajiv pointed out that the books are still actually available for sale on the shift site. i honestly thought some were long out of print and rare. but, they are all available. you could land all of them for about 500 bucks. apologies. i guess i will hang on to these and let them gather some dust.

  6. Took these pics for Rajiv, but in case any one was curious:

  7. Look no further:

    http://www.ballcap.com/

Cooperstown ballcap company. Vintage ball caps from all eras and you can get them in any color with or without logs. They are fitted and come with your choice of cotton or soft deerskin leather liner (which I highly recommend). I own several and can vouch for their quality and comfort.

i was looking for no logos and no leather, remember

  8. if anybody is still interested in these, i just found really cheap and perfect ones at H+M for 2.99 on the accessories rack. plain colors: yellow, red, navy blue. adjustable cloth strap, metal buckle. completely solid, no logos or embroidery of any kind.

wish they'd had one in khaki or black though.

  9. not that its relevant to your question, but i want to come out and say that ive bought a lot of uniqlo lately, and the quality of their other products (wide range from socks to sweatshirts) is excellent. i'd gamble on a suit of theirs. originally, i was going to get an H+M suit to have around, but H+M construction can be really unforgivably sloppy.

id be curious about a uniqlo suit too, i just dont recall seeing any in the flagship store...is it a japan only thing?

  10. out of curiosity, what is this exactly?

    free bumb

    thanks.

shift (shift.jp.org) is a design resource, one of the most old school ones

for design after 1990. they have a wing called Gas shop, which has artist

goods. Gas books, then, are monographs of certain studios, basically

work overviews of lesser known but highly influential design houses.

for instance: tomato, work in progress, blue source all have a gas book

of their own, about 100 pages, hardcover, with full color images of lots

of their work, plus interviews and other material relevant to the firm.

(as im describing it im wondering again why im selling these, but then

i remember i just need money and don't want them around to plagiarize from)

i will bump this thread once more when i take pictures and include

a complete title list of all the books.

background on why i have these: they were given to me by the distributor

of shift's titles in the USA, as payment and research material for a catalog

i was designing for them. i was glad to get the books, but because i am constantly

on the move between the east and west coast, they've sat unread in my closet

forever along with a ton of other design junk that i should sell off here.

    nobody seems interested though.
