As others have said, Quantum of Solace played like an action movie, e.g. something out of the Bourne series. I felt that all the fast-paced traveling scenes, escape sequences and brutal Bond-inflicted beatings ultimately left something to be desired. The Goldfinger style murder with oil rather than gold was low hanging fruit and I thought the opening title sequence animation was kind of lame.

People are talking about expectations. I think the grittier style of Casino Royale set up the Craig Bond movies to be better than the almost hilariously formulaic run of the films throughout most of the series. We're only into film 2 and this is the best they could do?

But watching any Bond movie on the big screen is a guaranteed good time. At least my expectations are down for film 3. Hopefully they surprise me...
