i feel like you people don't understand the function of this thread
during college after a particularly potent combination of tequila and delirium tremens i went to a house party at the New School (bunch of drama and music students). the girl i brought with me was too drunk to fuck which made me feel some type a way. basically turnt into a drunken monster, very fucked up and repugnant. i was on line for the bathroom and didn't feel like waiting so i took a gallon sized piss into a full laundry hamper. started yelling at random people, breaking things, etc. when the owner of the apartment tried to calm me down i took his pack of cigarettes, lit one, then dumped an entire beer onto his bed and challenged him to fight me. im also pretty sure i stole something on the way out but i cant remember what.
this was when i had what is affectionately referred to as "a drinking problem". i helped carry some lady in a wheelchair up a flight of stairs the next morning as penance.

thought it might be time for a check in after a year and a half.
left my job of three years and starting a new one monday. same field and position but with a different brand. i was on a nice upward trajectory that plateaued sharply after some serious upper management mistakes + a culture of nepotism in the company. i began my job search about a year ago with a very cocky attitude thinking i could easily secure a job thanks to my skill set and connections.
what a humbling year it has been. applied for lots of jobs trying to work for cool brands, went on a ton of interviews, got frustrated, stopped looking, and picked it back up and finally secured a job. however, rather than trying to work somewhere "cool", i am doing what jack donaghy described as "going deeper into the crevasse" and working with an even more-mass market brand than where i was before, focusing my efforts on stacking as much money as humanly possible in order to fund my other endeavors.
as tough as this past year was for me, it helped put things into perspective as to what is actually important to me in life. i picked up several new hobbies (yoga, DJing, starting boxing next week) and realized that i won't actually take any satisfaction from work until i am working for myself. i appreciate my girlfriend, friends and family even more for supporting me through a very selfish year. i was very wrapped up in material things but after amassing a pile of expensive clothing and pissing out a lot of champagne and cognac i have new goals: home ownership, more world travel, improving my health, supporting my friend's endeavors, and affecting things on a cultural level in my city.

i'm closer to times square on broadway so my range is a little different, but if you have the time to travel a little bit further here are a couple of standout places:
Sergimmo Salumeria 9th and 35th - delicious but expensive
Hero Boy 9th and 38th - the six foot hero originated here, delicious chicken parm and other italian food for better prices
Cafe China 37th and 5th - michelin starred chinese food with a decent lunch special
and if you are a coffee fan, Culture Espresso is on 6th and 38th is pretty good

my room is tiny.
the apt is dirty and ugly.
i THINK im going to be here for at least 3 years, but as of now, no matter how much NY will grow on my, CA > NY hands down. LA > NY. maybe its because im in manhattan. I should move out to williamsburg/brooklyn/queens/astoria or something like that. Or I just think NY is a good 1 week vacation spot.

going through the same thing right now. shipped internationally, tracking says delivered, buyer claims he never received. i filed a claim with USPS which will take up to 23 days to complete. buyer just asked me if i could refund him in the meantime. i'm thinking the safe answer is "no".
