  1. went shopping downtown seattle today...specifically looking into pick up a pair of Dior 19cm's in indigo but no size 30 . but heres wat i wore today

    V-neck sweater

    AA sleeveless hoodie

    LandsEnd light down vest

    Nudie slim jim dry japan

    PF Flyers

hey, i got that same vest. only 24 bones.

  2. how much do the waists stretch? i wear a 29 in APC NS, but my waist is really 33. will the 31s fit me in iron army?

i don't think the waist will stretch like APC NS does. maybe a little. the IA jeans are all 8" rise. that's about the lowest rise jean i've seen. so, if you get them you'll probably have to get you nuts removed.

  3. yeah its too long by the time im finish with that thread i wont have the urge to ge t a pair.. btw some of the posters there are bullshitting some answers..

possibly. most people say to size down. size down 2 and you should be good.

  4. does apc have really bad quality? i meanho come they strech that bad? if im a 34 what size should i get? a 32?

from what i've learned about APC NS, you should size down by 2 on your normal size. they will stretch that much in the waist. if you read the thread, i know it's long, you will learn more.

  5. I dont know that I have "skinny" legs per se, but I am one of the few guys I know in size 36/38 who can wear zathans...

My PBJ's are 006s which actually looked pretty silly in the store but when I tried on a one-wash model that gordon just happened to have in the store in the same size I really like the cut so I took home the raw pair and did a hot soak and so far have been very pleased with the results. I think part of the problem with these unsanforized jeans is that what-you-see-is-not-what-you-get when you're trying them on. The fit fundamentally changes when you get them wet that first time so even when trying them on you can't be sure of a good fit... I wish BiG carried more one-wash models

yeah, i feel you on that one. i think there's other people on here that go for the one wash also, just for that reason. cool that gordon hooked you up.

gap gough in 28w30l(more like 32l... barely long enough)

i like em. denim is nicer than i thought it would be, and i feel like im wearing nudies or something when i wear them.

cheap, those looking really good on you. looking forward to get mine in the mail. i wonder if gap is discontinuing them? i heard they are pretty hard to get now.

  7. I've heard so many people with that complaint, but I purchased my regular size (36) and they fit fine and I grabbed another pair (in 35 for a tighter fit) which also fit exactly as I expected. On the other hand, almost every pair of japanese jeans I've tried on (thinking warehouse, samurai and PBJ in particular, the stuff I tried on at BiG) has a way-too-small-waist compared to the rest of the cut. Most of the time they are all super baggy in the thighs and legs and fit in the waist or unbearably unbuttonably tight in the waist and just right everywhere else. I was so sad trying on the samurais in BiG because not one of them fit even remotely.

you must have skinny legs, cause the PBJs run pretty tight in thigh area. samurais aren't quite as tight as PBJs in the legs, but close. it would really suck not being able to wear japanese made jeans, because they are so nice.

  8. yup. post hem...the 36 was ridiculously long on me

cool. i was thinking about getting the kings, but i think they might be too big on me. i'm only 5 7, 145lbs. might go with the dukes. wish i could try them on.

  9. Finally got my black kings (been wanting these since like last feb, but was working on my nudies)

sz 32, hemmed to about 33ish length

fit like my RRDS, except straight leg, little longer rise. fucking love them, especially since my thunder thighs can't handle dukes/skulls/diors/most slim jeans

laughingbuddha, in this pic^^, is this with the 33 hem?

  10. I had a plan like that will Iron Hearts, but I didn't realize how low the rise was before I bought them. I didn't like the perpetual plumbers butt feeling so it failed miserably.

    that sucks.

yeah, don't think i would have bought both pr of canes without trying them on first. the denim is so nice.

  11. Buy one get one half off isn't really much better than the 20% off that styleforum gets, when you consider that, if buying two equal priced pairs, you're just getting 25% off each (and even less if they aren't equal priced). And mail order you don't pay tax :P

what do you mean? i saved 6 bucks! i knew it wasn't a great deal. i just wanted two pair of canes. gonna wear one into the ground and save the other one .

  12. Can anyone tell me the size of the inseam in centimeters of the 47 one wash (34 inch)?

Will there be shrinkage after a soak? Reason for askin' is that my 47 will have a inseam of about 83 cm and I normally wear 80 cm, so I'm thinkin' of letting them hemmed.

mine are 85cm. i haven't washed or soaked them yet. don't plan on anytime soon.

  13. so, thought i'd take a chance on these. went into the gap today, first time in probably 5-6 yrs? after i oriented myself, i tried on the 1969 (Morrison's?) Raw. The 32/32 was big on me. And very long. Tried on the 30/30, which fit perfect. Asked them about the Gough's, they all looked at me like I had a third eye. They didn't have them. Decided to wait on the Mo's.

Went home, called the gap for the goughs. They found some in pa. called them, they had no idea what i was talking about. After searching in their backroom they found 2 pair. 31/30 and 32/32. They were very surprised that they came up to 20 bucks a pr. I was like, "wow, really? what a deal!" I picked up both pairs. figure i can return the one that doesn't work or sell on supermarket.

  14. Buy one and the next one is for half price... for Sugarcanes, LVCs and Nudies. Where on Earth is this place you went to?

i live in dc. denimbar was having a pre-xmas sale. sale is over now. i believe you can get 20% off there with the style forum discount.

it was just my luck that they got the canes shipment the day i came in. i think it was fate:)

  15. holy ****

lol why the **** did you buy 2?

    ahahah

its not a bad thing though but goddamn! haah XD

the intention was to buy one, but the place i went to was having a buy one, get the other one for half price sale. i tried on about 10 other pairs (nudies, lvc, etc, etc), but none of them compared to the canes.

i was amazed how baggy the fit was with the raw pair. after the soak they shrunk up nicely. still expecting a little more shrinkage after next soak.

  16. I'm wondering... is anyone of the opinion that Kert, if he wants to rarely wash these, should have went with the 29?

i probably could have done a 29. all they had was a 30 so i went with that. my legs are kind of big though from running, so the 29 might have been too tight around the thigh area. i'm happy with them.

  17. that's really quite surprising that they shrunk so much, both in the waist and the inseam length. i don't think my VXs have shrunk down to 36 yet after 3 hot washes

Before and after photos for length.

    http://hotimg2.fotki.com/a/68_49/180_108/DSC00095.jpg

i was a little surprised also, but i think somebody on here said their VXs shrunk 4 inches total after a few hot washes.

the waist had me worried a little bit, so i made sure i put them on a little wet. then i did the hanger trick in the waist. even with that, they still shrunk 2.5 inches.

i'm about to get them hemmed 2 more inches. should be perfect then.

  18. great post kert

if u dont mind, whats ur true waist size, if not 30"?

edit: nevermind, i saw an earlier post from you that answered my question

my waist from the belly button around is 31 inches exactly. so, they were a little tight after the hot soak. but now they are starting to loosen up nicely. really like these.

    thanks for the comments guys.:)
