omfg IT DOESNT MATTER!!
1. fill the tub with water (hot=max shrinkage, cold=still shrinks but prolly not max)
2. throw the jeans in their and let it be completely submerge in water
3. leave it in their for atleast 2 hrs
4. take it out and hang it up outside to air dry
Chill out sir. I assure you that however helpful that enclycpedia was, it didn't contain specific details on soaking. The search function could use some work too.

I'm pretty sure that the quality of the UK Levi's are much better, like the 511's on Oi Polli.
That being said I absolutely love the fit and they sell a nice unwashed version at South Coast Plaza, though it isn't anywhere as stiff as STFs.
If you care more about fades then 501s are better, but the 511 fit is awesome.

You didn't try the one for chicks?
Those fit pretty well.
Love the details on these jeans. Denim's real thin but feels nice.

goddamn and i thought i was youngest here at 15 >_<
Haha, I'm 15 too. The most expensive pairs of jeans I've bought as Levi's Matchsticks, which were on sale for $60 bucks

Here's the strange selvage/non-selvage double line i was talking about....
The reason you would believe it was selvedge is because of the stiching over the seams, which I guess could be confused as selvedge due to it's likeness to the Cone Mills red line. The stiching was probably placed to reinforce the seams and make it flat.
Remember that selvedge is fabric with a nonfraying edge.

This guy has a pretty worn out pair of 936's.

I saw the dee dee on December's GQ and was really impressed with the fit. I'd rather spend money on other stuff than those though.

It's not an article of clothing...but rather a music player!

That's cute, Japan loves it when everythings neat and small.

I don't believe it's because they've been washed, but because they're made out of canvas. Shrinking mostly comes from unsafornized jeans which is a mark in vintage denim *notably Levi's and repros* therefore you shouldn't need to worry too much with modern jeans, unless stated.

What I don't like about the ECO is that some models have strange pockets and they are priced way above what I can justify.

Fast natural fade without the use of sandpaper...
