Should I dress up like I normally do or go for a suit when I go to a job interview at a retail clothes store?
I have always been a big believer of the wear a suit to any job interviews because there is no such thing as trying too hard when you want a job, but what about clothes stores that are fashionable and are seeking people who are also pretty fashionable?
I normally dressed reasonably fashionable but would fashionable retail stores be more impressed with my fashion sense or me wearing a nicely fitted suit with a briefcase?
Here is what I would probably wear to show my fashion sense(it may vary),
(These pictures make everything look bad for some reason , maybe it's just me.)
H&M Shirt
American Apparel Vest
A red tie
APC NS
Skagen Watch
Gram shoes
(except without the trench coat)
(shirts and ties may vary)
Would it depend on different types of retail store?
Should it be like,
GAP = Normally dressed
American Rag = Normally dressed
American Apparel = Normally dressed
Victoria's Secret = Formally dressed
Ann Taylor Loft = Formally dressed
Zara = Formally dressed
Armani Exchange = Formally dressed
Macy's/JC Penny/Nordstrom = Formally Dressed
?
Thanks guys.

I've worn APC NS for awhile now and I'm looking to get some Imperial Dukes as my next pair of dry denim. I was wondering though, are the Imperial Dukes as slim as a pair of APC NS? A 7 inch leg openining is what I'm aiming for but I read somewhere that dukes(at size 28-29) has a leg opening up to about 8 inches.
Will I have to take it to a tailor to have it tapered like APCs?

edit - the black ones

i'm looking to wash my apc soon.... it's getting pretty dirty... is there anything i should look out for while washing ? and show i turn it inside out while washing ???
There was a pamphlet that came with the APCs that contains "recipes" for ways to wash your jeans.
If you're going for the standard washing machine route, then yes, turn it inside out and put the machine on the lightest wash(mine says delicate). The recipe advises you to use Woolite black(scroll up to my post) but it should be okay with out. If you do use woolite, just follow the instructions on the back of the bottle.

Where could i get a bottle of woolite? or would you want to sell me yours?
You can get them in any super-market/wal-green/wal-mart in the detergent aisle.
They're $6-$7 for the smallest bottle.

Washed my APC NS after 8 months of wear,
before/after
They turned out well and I'm in love with them. I folllowed the washing machine recipe. Delicate wash with some woolite(though I used like 3 cups of woolite). I wanted to wash it on the beach but that was too much effort, maybe I'll do it on my 2nd wash

I didn't check with chim but I was planning to buy it from another wholesaler beforehand, he didn't have it and he even called AA. They're out
Thanks anyway

Because they're out. They allow you to choose XS and everything but they'll just tell you they're out later, which is stupid. Also, this http://americanapparel.net/wholesaleresources/catalog/product.html?s=RSAF402&cid=16&w=0

I'm looking for a slim small plain black sweater v-neck vest but I'm having a hard time finding one.
Some info -
I want to wear an extra-small, but if there's a small that fits my preferences, I'll consider it.
American Apparel' schoolboy vest in extra small is exactly what I'm looking for but it's out of XS in black.
I want it to hug my body.
I don't want almost black, I don't want one with patterns, just a plain black one.
I'm planning to wear a long-sleeve button under the vest and leaving the shirt untucked so the shirt falls out of the vest, so a long one is undesirable. Here is a crappy photoshop of what I mean by having it falling out,
I don't want one that looks like this on the bottom,
Thanks!

so is this a US 10 for sure? if so, would you say it fits true to a US 10, or larger/smaller?
It's more of a 10.5-11. I wear a size 9s, so when I put on the shoes, I definitely feel that the extra inch is way too much for me.

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
These gram shoes are a size 43(10 US, fits more like a size 10.5-11) and they're a bit used. They've been waxed once using the cotton wax that comes with it and worn about 4 times. These shoes have been out of season for awhile, it's your chance to get them now!
Get back to me ASAP since I want to ship these out ASAP. It comes with the cotton wax polish, a brush, a cloth to wax, and a neat Gram bag that the shoes go in to.
I bought them for $140USD and I'm willing to sell them for $100USD shipped(negotiable), a bit extra for international shipping. I only take paypal and I'm willing to do international shipping at an extra cost. I'll ship it UPS ground on the same day as long as it's before 5PM PST time and provide you the tracking number as soon as possible, anyway you want it, even over the phone if you would like.
I'll do local pick-up if you live in/near Orange County, Calfornia, shipping still applies.
You can also contact me at "Its Rock Music" on AIM or e-mail at [email protected]. Thanks!

The original site is sold out guys , anyone know anywhere else I can purchase this coat?
edit - also, for anyone that can read Japanese, is there an "enter e-mail here to get a notice when we re-stock" option?

Well, this thread is for me to ask a question about tailoring but if others want to ask, go for it.
Anyway,
I stopped by a thrift store today and found this Japanese school boy type jacket and thought it was pretty awesome and fits pretty well,
The problem though, it's too damn long,
Can a tailor cut it short? Like this,
dont mind the weird slant up, it should be straight but it was hard to hold it straight
Also, how much would I expect?
Thanks.

Looking for a specific type of slip-ons
in supershopper
Posted
Slip-ons have been quite popular in the last 2-3 years, and a lot of manufacturers have been making them as well as creating a design of their own. Well, I'm looking for a specific design and I was hoping someone out there would know/see anything about them.
What I'm looking for is,
Plain black(and white soles, no all-blacks please) slip-ons, leather or canvas. Similar to Van's black classic or Jack Purcell's leather slip-ons.
Preferably slim looking, but an original design like Van's or Jack Purcell's is fine.
Lastly, the difference I'm looking for would be a sharp toe, similar to this,
or
(i already have these though, im looking for something more casual and not like ankle boots)
So yeah a casual slip-on, and not a dressy slip-on. I imagine I would have to shop internationally since I doubt I'll find it in the states, but does anyone by any chance happen to know where I can find one? I'm sure they exist
These are what my dream shoe would be if they were slip-ons,
Thanks!
