Hey Paul the book looks great. I saw some Bowie shows in the early seventies: Aylesbury Friars and some Uni in London.
I live in Northampton quite near the Trickers factory, Loakes too.
Let me know when you plan to visit.

Just ordered a pair of S5000VX lot 13 in TTS size 34 from B.I.G.
What are your experiences of shrinkage?
They measure 35 "waist according to Gordon who was very patient with all my sizing queries.
I am expecting waist shrinkage of 1.5" and 2.5" in the length which would be perfect.

I was in Cinch yesterday. The shop looks a lot better now, much more stock: jackets, shirts, t-shirts etc. Still can't believe £ 215 for the jeans though.

55 look great. But you should cuff those babies!!!
Mmm that raises the question of how short is short

Hey Paul. I just got my third pair of SDA 103. had to buy 34" as the 32's were too small and sold them on the ' bay. Slow fades but lovely dark denim. Now in rotation with IH 634-S and FH 3005.

Hey ninja. Love the look with the classic Clarks DB

Surely the answer to so many of these questions is to do what Levis have always recommended? Wear them in the bath for a first soak. I have been wearing Levis for 40 years and it works for me.

mickolackis, those 201 are from the first year's LVC. These were probably a slightly inaccurate repro - the 201 was the budget model and normally had a linen patch - but a lot of people are real fans of this particular model including, FWIW, Eric Clapton; I've been asked a couple of times if I had any spare pairs, because he was buying them. But I think he's a 34 waist and he's not that tall...
I'm currently wearing a pair of the 555 201's dated 11/97 size 34x36 and they are my all time favourites from LVC.
I've also got a 32x34 (11/97) and 33x36 (02/98) but they are a bit tight on the waist and the 32's will have to stay unwashed.
BTW I've got a pair of pre-LVC Big E's on ebay. Bought 'em from American Classics in the mid nineties, they have 0996 on the care tag.
Interesting story about Clapton because I was told a similar story by the guy in AC about a 'rock star' who was kee.n to get the 1955's back in the collection some years ago

Edmond love the Lonewolfs, where did you get them? I'm trying to find a black pair and somewhere that ships to the UK, most places I looked are out of stock, at least in my size, 7.

Hey,
I´ve just received two new pairs of jeans, a 1933 501XX from LVC Season 1 2006, which I´m a bit confused of, the tags all read L34 but actually it´s a L37. Is that usual with 1933s? The second pair is an Edwin made 1937 Lee Hair on Hide, which als measure way too long, the tags read L33 but measures L38, do the shrink much in length? I hope so! Many thanks mates!
In my experience the Lee Hair On Hide don't shrink much at all. The 38" leg is only likely to lose an inch at most.

Does anyone know where I can get some Eternal 811 raw from somewhere in English as I cannot fathom Japanese?
I got some one wash from BIG but would prefer them raw?

Sounds like you should go for a 32...every pair of sam's that I have has been tight when I received them (presoak), and then a bit moreso after getting wet...but they always stretch out. Not sure why they weren't hemmed...but that may be a good thing because you can probably send them back now. Ask Gordon for some sizing advice for that model too.
I have e-mailed Gordon with a view to an exchange. He said that they had measured the 31s and they came up as 33, but mine are nowhere near. I have asked him to reserve either a 32 or 33 depending on the actual waist measurement. I can't wait to get the right size as I love the denim.

What's your normal waist size?
Gimme, I am a 33" in everything else: PBJ, Skulls and Eternal, even though the tag size may vary I always go for the size that actually measures 33". The BIG size chart says 31's measure 33 waist but they don't. I love the fit otherwise. I also asked for them to hem to 36 but they still measure 38.
