So as many of you denim heads may know, one of the sources of premium cotton is Zimbabwe (ala Zimbabwean Cotton).

That country is also currently being run by a corrupt tyrant, who has been in the news alot over the past few years. (but because there is no oil there none gives a 747 flying F**k).

My question to you is: Does it bother you (and to a lesser extent I) that the money you spend on top quality denim is, in all probability, lining the pockets of a brutal regime??

I found with my Straight Svens that the crotch died due to all the sweat/jizz/piss that it absorbed. Its really battered down there after about 8 months and now wash, so i washed them today.

I will be doing something different with my current RRDS and perfect this when i finally get some ALD prescott selvage

still after a pair of roughouts. although these look way darker than the ones at www.wwiiimpressions.com

any ideas on where to pick some up??? Im in the UK

The svens are a little saggy, but nothing major. A regular fit i would say. Less so with the Ralfs. Not really very tight but i dont suppose charging up stairs helps.

Cant really post pics as my camera is pre war but if you imagine a frayed hole, with bits of denim still bridging the gap, about 3 inches wide, thats what its like.

So my Straight Svens have a destroyed crotch (repairable, but still...) The seam hasnt failed, the denim has. My new Reg Ralfs look to be going the same way after only a week of intermittent wear. Is it time for heavier denim..??
