  1. thanks a lot guys, that's really helpful.

    ...but, one last dumb question.

i use a macbook pro and don't own a mouse - so i can't right click to get the image location. i've looked at the options in firefox but can't seem to find anything.

  2. this is really pissing me off. i'm trying to post pictures and it won't work - help me, pleeeeese...

i've followed the directions, hosting the shots on dropshots.com then, pasted the url inbetween but when i preview the post it shows nothing at all.

the url doesn't end with .jpeg or .gif etc, which may have something to do with it. i've tried adding that myself, but no dice. wtf?

i'm sure i'm just doing/not doing something twattish...

    the url is http://www.dropshots.com/ruprecht#date/2007-10-31/13:44:51

sorry, i know posts like this are annoying. anyone got any ideas?

  3. Kind of funny that you bought the SDA´s before the Canes....

Classic sufu indoctrination would be the other way around...

    :D

hehe, very true - chalk that down to some typically excellent advice from coldrice.

on a slightly more thread-relevant point, though, i am actually really, really glad these were my first pair of serious jap denim.

they're so fucking hard to break in that anything after this should be a breeze.

it is true, though, that conversely this is one of the things that makes SD103s so rewarding.

  4. tweedles, that was just the start of it, man. let's just say that from indoctrination things swiftly progressed to mass psychosis.

whilst i'd love to claim credit for a small, well-chosen selection, i subsequently picked up (deep breath) some Dukes, Duckdigger 20s, Edwin Bluebell repros, S710WXs, Dior 21cms, S5000BKs, Cougars, Kicking Mule 50's, SD101s, PRPS Slim Raws and S510XX-AIs. Oh, and not forgetting the contest jeans on the way.

basically a timeline of superdenim and supermarket over the last year...

i haven't really posted about them 'cos although i love 'em - i'm slightly ashamed of some hypebeasting of edmond-like proportions.:D

i am gonna post shots of my 103s soon, though. they've had nearly a year of constant wear now and are starting to look pretty dope. sorahikos have had about six-months now too.

  5. Yes, that was during the summer of 2006.

    I love my SDs.

yup, that's when i got hooked. 103s being my first pair, closely followed by some SC 47s and sorahikos... classic sufu indoctrination.

  6. i don't expect to find much agreement, and i hesitate to write this as i rate kiya for all the knowledge etc he bring to this board (that's why i don't for one minute question his motives), but this whole thread bothers me.

it boils down to the fact that i can't look at any of those pictures without thinking 'Derelicte'.

the sentence "broox story, as told through his jeans" just seems so overly-dramatic and faux romantic.

yes, this guy has made a lifestyle choice...yada yada...but when i used to read all those lame arse comments about how 'homeless people must get sick fades haha...' i never really wanted to know the answer.

    nathan barley, anyone?

  7. My friend's interested in getting a pair of these jeans. We saw them on a girl in a pub the other day and she's looking for some new skinnies. i suggested some Lindas but...

anyway, girl in pub said they were Hem & Haw, an australian label. she called them another name but i can't remember. googled them and some shit site came up. anyone know where to get these? a UK stockist perhaps?

  8. agreed - those jeans look hideous.

but that's not to say that a bit of judicious pinching always has to look shit.

i've always found the whole 'your denim is a journal of your life' attitude to be a bit self-satisfied and bullshitty.

it's a pair of jeans, not the turin shroud.

i've pinched, and i ain't ashamed to admit it. personally, i've found it to be useful - especially if you like your jeans a bit looser than the standard sufu fit.

i'll try and post pics of my sorahikos later, so you can see what you think...

  9. for what it's worth, as another outside observer, i pretty much agree with beefcake.

i'm not gonna shit on beatle, cos i think she deserves credit for setting this thing up and i've always found her to be very sweet and helpful. i also couldn't care less whether she's sanded or not.

but i don't think people should jump on Jinx either... i respect his opinion a lot more than a lot of the posters i see here.
