listened to the UOA on gravity----so much more grand and cosmic than their more athletic KRS release; "he holds his staff up, the inscription reads: no man may move on until he has forgotten what it is to live in fear"; the fear forgotten they turn their backs, never to understand..."
Totally. All their stuff was great but the Gravity EP was on some other shit.
and plopped on the heroin 12"; remember how the center hole wasn't punched out? each center label was cut out from a magazine. mine is "ET" and the hole goes through his heartWeird. I've seen copies of the Heroin 7" like that but not the 12". Is it the first run on Vermiform/Gravity or just Gravity?

I have one pair of shorts and they've been worn maybe four times in the 3 years I've had them, only at the beach and once when I had the flu. In the past my reason was mostly that they look bad universally but I've seen some borderline decent shorts in the past year or so, so I'm willing to admit that the right ones could, theoretically, look good on the right person.
The heat has never bothered me though. I probably would have broken down and worn shorts if I really needed to.

i always thought drive like jehu was completely more of a DC sounding band, especially in the later stuff.
Yeah, me too. Even though Jehu were from SD I never really associated them with that scene or sound.

Played with them too, they were awesome, but they were on some whole other shit from the Gravity bands. Personally I liked the Slap-a-Ham bands a lot more. We were on one of the Bleeeeaaarrrghh! comps that they put out, but that shit was unlistenable.
Apples and oranges. I dug what both labels were doing though.
Which band were you in??

I've always liked Jockey, but especially since I'm skinny & lanky, I've really liked their Trim-Fit T's Perfect except the arm openings are still big.
Alfani make nice undershirts especially for the tall/skinny motherfucker, sold at Bloomingdales and Macy's. Quite long and slim (around 34 chest, 28+ length on a size small if I remember correctly..), soft. V-necks too.
Anyone got suggestions for lines that use slim but slightly longer cuts for their tees? I'm 6' 2", 140 lbs.. I like 2K, Stacks, P.A.M. etc. graphic-wise, but either the shirts don't even make it to my waist or they're wide enough to fit two of me. I'm tired of wearing blank American Apparel shirts all the time, and even those are getting a lot boxier every time I buy new ones.

anyone remember SPAZZ? i remember them playing at stalag before the whole grind thing blew up.
Of course. I saw one of the last shows they played, with Charles Bronson, Suppression and Hellnation.

So there's now a 44" waist but no 26" or even 28" waists?
Yeah, fuck that shit for real.

they shoulda stuck with sounding like crossed out
I loved that shit in 96 but it's not a good look in the new millennium.
Gravity was ill. There was a time when I had every single release (up until 98 I guess). Faves were the Heroin 12", John Henry West EP, MITB, and second Antioch Arrow 12".

I've still got that laundromat video on tape somewhere. Also had another show where they played 5-6 songs that were never released (!).
I rarely listen to them but they were one of the best bands of the 90s.

Can someone with size 26 Acne's (preferably Mic's) post the waist measurement? Thanks..

New Age D'or in yellow (M).
I might have seen one at Illustrated Example yesterday. Not sure if they do mail orders but you can hit them up here.

I find Robson more 'annoying' than 'fun' (too many tourists/suburbanites and trashy shops), but definitely check out Gastown.

This shirt references the Luis Bunuel movie "Age D'Or" AND the cover of this wicked krautrock album by Ash Ra Tempel:
Free bump for mentioning Ash Ra Tempel.

Knowledge jewel. Like I was saying in the Justice thread, theirs is okay but this one destroys it. You can really see how much of an influence Chicago had on the French scene here. Everything flows seamlessly. It's a two hour mix and the whole thing effing bangs.

Yup, Seattle (WAMU Center). It's going to be killer.

On the subject of Essential Mixes by hyped French duos, someone should up the Daft Punk one from 1997. Totally blows this one away. It's still one of the best I've heard..

If you want to learn how fucked shit is, just read a book on current affairs in Africa, or the standard of living in rural China, or just remember Hurricane Katrina if you need it stateside, or how your President duped the nation into going into Iraq. Those shall all do a pretty good job.
Or..
Michael Parenti
Arundhati Roy
Noam Chomsky
Greg Palast
Amy Goodman
Jeremy Scahill
Tariq Ali
John Perkins
etc, etc..
Or just start checking democracynow.org every day.

My dudes..
All of this is gold. Most other stuff is just fake American trash.

the mixing is def flawless... I assume this was done on decks w/ serato or final scratch... some of these blends are wild.
Pretty sure some or maybe all of it was done with Ableton Live. I've only heard it 3 times but I noticed a bunch of tracks slowing down/speeding up without the pitch changing. Sounds like Ableton..

Half of all illegal immigrants came into this country legally—and we have no way of knowing they’re still here!
Congressmen are putting their wives on their campaign payrolls—so that campaign contributions are really personal bribes!
The ACLU won’t allow its own directors free speech.
Liberals want to strip us of the tools to stop terrorism.
The UN is a cover for massive corruption—and eighty countries, who pay 12 percent of the budget, are blocking reform.
Drug companies pay off doctors to write scripts—whether we need them or not.
Teachers unions block the firing of bad teachers—and battle against higher education standards!
Katrina victims are being stiffed by their insurance companies!
Special interests cost our consumers $45 billion—through trade quotas that save only a handful of jobs!
None of these set off your bullshit detector?

Haha, mine was Tony Iommi. I actually sold all my Mohinder stuff to someone at Up Records who bought them for one of the Mohinder guys. I guess he never kept copies for himself..
