  1. Crate Denim put it best...

"Washing jeans is bad. Not as bad as your girlfriend not making out with you cause your pants smell. Your call."

I think the idea, obviously, is to go as long as possible and to think about what you're doing and what you want to accomplish with washing (or not).

I usually aim for about 6 months of continuous wear, before even thinking about washing (and I live in a warm climate and ride a bike...). I've been a pair of United Bamboo since June and think I'll just keep going...

  2. "This ain't Diesel n*****, these is Evisu" - or A.P.C. or or PRPS or Tsubi or Nudie or Crate or Rag & Bone!

That said, I got nothing against Diesel and cringe less when I see someone in them then a lot of overly embellished shite I see out there. Also have no problem with banner ads paying the rent.

  3. It's weird - I'm about 3-1/2 months (getting good!) into a pair of United Bamboo tapered jeans and every once in a while I'll put on a pair of my Evisu and just feel kinda weird. Two people could fit. I still love 'em, and there'll be occasions I'll rock 'em, but once you go skinny, everything else just feels strange. And don't even get me started on boot-cuts...

  4. It kind of pisses me off when I hear people say the clothes I wear are too expensive. My standard reply is to tell them to look at their bar-tab from last night (guys) or to tell them those $4.00 lattes add up (girls).Plus if you look at cheap clothing (Gap, Old Navy etc.) there are issues concerning production that you really don't want to know about.

The best line about spending on denim was by an Austin 'zine Misprint (check it out online - funny as shit!) - those $190 Nudie's WILL get you laid/get you a girlfriend and that's when things get expensive...

  5. Quality construction, lovely denim... nice straight leg fit though a little full through the lower leg for my taste.

Oh, and size UP! I'm a 31 A.P.C. New Std's and wear 34" in R & B. Plus the inseam is 32" up to size 32" waist, then 34" inseam for larger waist sizes...

The jackets and shirts are really nice too - same quality construction.

And CFDA nominees which counts for something.

  6. Green Tea's right - it's a heavier, kinda uneven weave, yet soft. If you look closely at the outside of them, there's some variation in the blues... Beautiful stuff, tho kinda dear! I've got my eye on a pair with the red Japanese floral Daicock at this shop FactoryPeople in Austin, but gotta save up my $670! Denim as art I figure...

  7. Should be readily available at grocery stores. I buy it at Randalls... I hand wash in the tub and then only when they are just too stanky - usu. just rinse 'em, no detergent Then I run a clean bath and follow the concentrate directions on the bottle. Good luck.

  8. Nobody are cool - nice washes (I think they started life as an industrial wash house - doing finishes for Tsubi!). The women's fit great as do the guys - pretty slim & straight. I bought a pair of the raw selvedge at FactoryPeople in Austin and have been wearing the shit out of 'em... FYI the raw pair are LONG - 36" inseam that comes cuffed and definitly size down (I'm a 32" and got the 31"s).
