  1. ^ the current store has no relations to Converse. even the chucks there seem pretty suspicious.

I was walking past there and looking at their stuff and thinking to myself that Converse has really expanded their range, until I realised it wasn't a Converse store anymore.

I don't think the Chucks are that suspicious, but you never know. Like that one shop that's supposed to be an official Converse seller, but they sell "Vaierns" slip ons as well.

  2. anyone interested in moving to a weird island in the middle of no where so we can be non-reliant on the rest of this world?

away from the illuminati, and all the badddd stuff, like non-biodegradable products. so that we can live a honest, proper life, just like they did thousands of years ago.

    grow veggies, eat veggies.

we could have to buy a boat in case of any emergencies tho.

applicants subject to interview before approval.

    PM me if you're interested.

I hate to break it to you but you are on a weird island in the middle of nowhere.

  3. yeah my bad, I can see the difference after looking at those pics again.

I picked them up from my local skate store in singapore...who brings in samples and factory stock from US and Japan. No box, but cheaper.

By that description alone I can tell what shop it is. They didn't happen to have any hemp half cabs in did they?

  4. haha :)

i think if chainstitching is a must, it would be a good idea to get the store to do the alteration for you when you buy. if you're buying japanese denim that would be either BiG or rakuten, both can do hemming.

if not, a well-done single stitch is also fine. APCs use a single stitch hem and they turn out okay.

    Did you hem your APCs?

  5. Is that the Ted Tailor at peninsula shopping centre?

I don't think that's the one the above poster is referring to. Tet is next to Belief, not opposite it. There is another tailor's shop opposite Belief I, uh... believe.

  6. cool. ive been wanting some imperials for a while now thanks to hap.

I have to say that I'm aiming to buy a pair of Skulls and a pair of Imperials, and both these choices were determined by how good they looked on haptronic.

  7. haha someone actually set up a shop selling knock off clothing here in Singapore????

cool....so are the folks who man the place, like those running the neighbourhood pirated dvd/vcd/software????........ blonde hair and the workz???

No lah. They're the uncle types. I doubt they know or care whether or not their goods are real.

And there are plenty of shops selling knock off clothing in Singapore. The Double Seven chain of stores, for example. And there's a really long thread dedicated to a shop at Bugis selling fake Japanese hypebeasty stuff (and trying to pass it off as originals) over at Frontal.

  8. oh yeah... neway... have a question dat mi feel will b adequately answered by u guys... there's a place called dave n dane selling jeans and stuff... tinks dey have 3 outlets... anyone heard of it?

First time I heard of Dave and Dane was from a flyer outside Peace Centre (I think... the one along Selegie Road). I wanted to check out what vintage stuff they had but I'd forgotten about it. I then saw a promo for their shop in Juice. That sparked my interest again, but I was attempting to sort out my wardrobe at the time and so it slipped to the back of my mind. I actually came across a Dave and Dane outlet almost completely by accident when going to the restroom at the second floor of Peninsular Plaza.

And the conclusion of this completely pointless story?

Dave and Dane? Not worth it. They sell a lot of fake stuff, and not even particularly good fakes either (Fake BAPE, N(N), Levis, Supreme, Levis, etc). Probably better off going to House of Japan.

You're not going to find any cheapmuthafukr bargains at D&D.

  9. oh got it... btw imo id rather get like an apc for everyday use and maybe skulls for a weekend .. but what can you guys say about apc's? is it worth getting a pair?

Our esteemed moderator certainly thinks so.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to make the trip down to Front Row to try the APC (the new stock is already in right?) and then to Heeren to try the Skulls as well.

  10. how much do the lvc 47's cost in sg? wouldn't mind going up to kl to get a pair if it really is 50% cheaper.

Take it this way. If it's SGD$400-$500 here, it's going to cost RM$400-$500 in KL.

Thanks for the advice everybody. TIP, mostly I've been worried about the notorious sizing on the APCs. Do they really stretch out that much?

  11. hey

    patience,

    whats ur denim count now?

after going through a superfuture fuel-ed denim binge, i realised that all you really need is 2 pairs of decent denim. and once u break em in, and they fit perfect, you're gonna regret having so many pairs of deadstock denim lying abt :l

    trust me!!

4 I think. But nothing special, certainly nothing I'd impress anybody on either SF with. A couple of Levis from their Square Cut range, Gap 1969s (closest thing I have to Japanese selvage) and a dark slim fit pair from Zara.

Superfuture keeps tempting me to invest in a pair of better jeans, and while I can definitely afford it, I just left my job and thoughts of buying New Standards, Sugarcanes, Skulls, etc probably aren't the best thing right now.

  12. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to resist the lure of dry selvage, especially since my friend just picked up a pair of 47 LVCs in KL (for half the price they're selling them in Singapore, too).

    Help me, Obi Wan.

  13. the intention was to buy one, but the place i went to was having a buy one, get the other one for half price sale. i tried on about 10 other pairs (nudies, lvc, etc, etc), but none of them compared to the canes.

i was amazed how baggy the fit was with the raw pair. after the soak they shrunk up nicely. still expecting a little more shrinkage after next soak.

Buy one and the next one is for half price... for Sugarcanes, LVCs and Nudies. Where on Earth is this place you went to?
