Anyone else dissapointed with the new Macbook Pro's? I was hoping for lighter, bigger glass trackpad, Boot SSD drive for an instant on/shut down. The only thing that really stands out is new HD camera, and Sandybridge processors. Which is nice and all but it's like doing the same shit over and over but a little better.

The problem with Thunderbolt is that it's so fucking limited to the amount of things you have accessible with it. I just feel that even if you get thunderbolt you are going to waiting a bit until it catches up to USB. Granted USB is straight shit compared to firewire as the time they were both release and got the upper hand somehow. Thunderbolt may have the same fate.

Honestly Taipei is a pretty cheap city. You can pretty much cab it anywhere for around 200NT ($6USD). If you plan on clubbing you will have to cab it since the subway closes at 12. Most clubs don't even get started till 12 so you are shit out of luck on public transportation.

As far as hotels go, I'd try to find one that is close to an MRT. It is the fastest and most efficient way to get around Taipei. Unless you have a international license and can ride a motorcycle. My only beef with ximending is that it is kind of a sketchy area so you might want to be careful at night after clubbing when you get home.
