  2. don't you know? spring hoodies are thin, meaning cheap. meaning china.

the pullover half zip is made in Canada so its CYC.

I don't have any of the other hoodies from spring to know about them. I'd be reasonably sure at least the striped zip hoodie is CYC too, since they did the striped zip spring hoodie last year.

  3. been a while since i posted anything but i did this mix yesterday and figured maybe you guys would like it...

  4. ok, added measurements for the hoodies. not really sure how to do a shoulder measurement because of how the hood attaches to the body - a measurement of the hood to the end of the shoulder seem wouldn't really be comparable to anything other than another hoodie i think. If I'm wrong about that let me know and i can measure the shoulders however you like.

  5. I'm looking to sell a bunch of Wings & Horns stuff I rarely wear (or have rarely ever worn) to make room for some new things.

First, tiger fleece hoodies. I'm looking to get $100 shipped (within Canada/US) each for these. If you are from another country and are interested, send me a pm and I can try to figure out shipping. All are in good shape and don't show any noticeable sings of wear. No rips, tears, etc.

All 3 are from back when riri zippers were still used. The red and blue are both pretty rare, since I think they only did the red/black and blue/black tiger fleece for one season. The green one is actually spruce, but, strangely (given that it's the oldest one) it's also the one I probably have worn the least.

red/black tiger - medium classic fit

    p2p - 20.75"

    sleeve - 26"

    shoulders - 19"

blue/black tiger - large slim fit

green/white tiger - large slim fit

this last one is more a jacket than a hoodie. I believe they called if the "nanook" hoodie. It's black fleece with a full quilted lining. The hood itself is lined in fur and also zips in half (with a riri zipper). The elbows have cool textured leather patches. Really love this but it's a bit too small for me. Very warm. It's a size medium and I'd ask SOLD for it.

Olive/black merino wool jacket. This jacket is merino wool on the outside and has a quilted cotton inside. It zips up and also has a button placket. 4 pockets on the front (2 upper button ones and 2 lower handwarmer type). Love this jacket and looked for it forever and ended up settling on an XL because I finally found one. Unfortunately, XL is way too big for me even with layering. I'd be willing to trade it for the same jacket in L, or would sell it for $200 shipped.

This red plaid jacket is also wool. I believe it's an F2 replica. The inside is lined with sueded fleece. It buttons up and has 2 vertical riri zipper chest pockets and 2 lower flap pockets. I like it, but it doesn't really fit with anything else I wear. I'd ask $150 shipped for it.

PM me if you have any questions. I might be adding more stuff later. A brown/white tiger fleece pullover hoodie is one (which I think is pretty rare, I've hardly seen any pullover tiger fleece hoodies).

  6. Have fun staying dry in a ripstop jacket when water of any kind actually starts falling from the sky.

I have the ripstop from last F/W and have never had any problems with it in the rain and I live in Vancouver, so it sees a lot of it...

I like it enough that I was semi-considering one of this F/W versions (since the colorways are more subtle than last year's version), but I'm not really feeling those colors and $300 is pretty steep for a shell.

  7. I got my stuff today (I'm in Canada). The most amazing thing was no fees when it was delivered. I knew that UPS Expedited meant no brokerage charge, but I had assumed there would be at least tax (since we're talking a few hundred bucks worth). When it showed up - nothing - I just had to sign. Very impressed. It also took forever to actually ship, but they shipped Friday and I got it today. They shipped my North Face yesterday and its supposed to arrive tomorrow. Very impressed with that.

One note for any Canadians - the boxes have a sticker that says the box is not to be redirected so I think that might be a problem if you say ordered with your home address (since they only ship to billing addresses) and planned to redirect it to your work or something.

As far as the product I was ready to be disappointed in the crusader varsity after reading complaints about it but I'm pretty satisfied both with it and the fit. I ordered a medium (I'm an M in pretty much everything) and thought it might be too small with what people were saying. Strangely, the chambray work shirt I got is a bit small for a medium. Seems smaller than the oxfords and flannels I have. It's wearable but if anything I thought it'd be a bit bigger given that its a work shirt.

  8. If you want to save some money wait a month or two until Obey ships its summer line. They have a very similar shirt in that line (the only difference is it has regular flap pockets) in 2 different versions - s/s and l/s in both indigo and red chambray. The red chambray is also actually red (at least the sample was) and not pink.

From my experience Obey cut & sew shirts also fit pretty similar to Engineered Garments (a bit short and a tad boxy and I wear a medium in both), plus it'll cost half the price. I tried to find a picture online but I guess its too early and Obey catalogs are just line drawings. I might have some pictures of it in a look book at work, though.

If you like chambray you'll probably like the whole summer line. There's a lot of it, all in both indigo and red. Shorts, jeans (!?), shirts and a camp cap like the Supreme ones.

  9. even with customs? do ups shipments have the same problem as canada post (customs + inscrutable delays)?

no problems with delays (they use their own broker to get things through customs). If anything its faster plus you get a guaranteed delivery date, but the down side of that is its a lot worse for fees. Duties and tax will be the same but you have to pay UPS's brokerage charge which is based on a sliding scale of whatever the declared value is (Canada Post's is nothing if the package is marked low and a flat $5 if not, regardless of the value). When I got my Quoddy boots through UPS the charge was like $90 on $300 value and a good $40-$50 of that was UPS brokerage.

All that said as a Canadian I'm glad they ship to Canada because before this I had 3 options:

-beg for pickups on here (nobody would help, or if they did they'd charge enough to make resellers reasonable)

    -resllers

-use a us mail drop and get a web order sent there and ship it to myself. The problem with this is they seem to have caught on to this (or have an automated system to catch these orders somehow) so the order gets canceled half the time anyways and even if they get through you end up paying shipping twice + tax

The other thing is that, for the shipper, shipping UPS is more paperwork going over the border than USPS is (my boots got held up for a day because Quoddy had to give UPS a detailed materials breakdown before they'd clear it - any package I've ever got via USPS just has the green sticker where the guy just writes something vague like "shoes"). It's interesting they chose to use it because I talked to someone from the web store a few months back and he said the reason they wouldn't ship to Canada is that its too much paperwork.

  10. oh, i didn't know they did some of the s/s 09 stuff and i didn't think they did any of the s/s 08 pieces (at least any of the ones I bought). that's good news because i like that french terry striped zip up

  11. i'm also wondering if cyc is actually doing the fleece for s/s. usually they only do the f/w stuff but that motion hoodie looks a lot like a cyc hoodie (it looks like it has those stretch panels on each side under the arms) and the striped hoodie is listed as french terry cotton which cyc has been using heavily for their lighter weight wings & horns hoodies the last few s/s seasons. i hope that stuff is cyc because it'll be better construction than the usual made in china s/s fleece.
