  1. anyone who has these could you please measure the waist across? I'd also need to know if the measurement is from a new pair or a worn (=stretched) pair.

I usually wear 32 and got that in the Diors, but they are too big and now I'm wondering if I should get 31 or even 30.

I tried searching but couldn't find any specific info.. any help is appreciated!

  2. I think yoox somehow charges the customs when you buy from them.

when buying normally from out of the country you are required to pay customs, how they're handled depends on the courier. I dont know how it operates over there but UPS might charge you upon delivery or send a bill. the local postal service (USPS?) might forward it to customs where you have to pick it up and pay the charges.

  3. freedom fries.

offtopic and not directed at West; "freedom fries" was one of the most retarded things ever.

for lunch I was thinking of just getting a bagel and a diet coke.

I eat barely any breakfast (a small yoghurt today) and pretty lightly at lunch, at some point I had full meals at lunch but then realized theres no point in eating that much when I dont need to. if I eat a huge plate of kebab I'll be as hungry at dinner time as I am if eat a sandwich.

  4. I always write a huge disclaimer at the end of my auction preaching about authentic items and how much fakes there are on ebay. not sure if it helps too much but hopefully someone is enlightened by it..

good, big pics are always a good sign plus pics of tags and such.

  5. if you need to do it often then its a good idea to learn to do it of course

I wouldnt cut it at first though, you can just turn it inside out, figure out how much you want to take in (draw for example, as you mentioned) and then just sew it and after that cut the excess part off. that way it will get aligned properly etc. sew the seams twice (you can leave a couple of mm in between) or after cutting you can use the zigzag type thing and sew over the edge with it.

think I'll take some pics next time I do something to make a short guide since many people here seem to be interested in this :)

oh and as keri said, there are variations on this, you can go all the way to the armpit (moving towards the original seam at the end) or just take in from the lower part and fade it into the seam. this works if the hem of the shirt is too wide but it fits good on the top.

  6. theres a ton of topics on this

you can just simply take the sides in as much as you need, if its too wide around the chest too then you need to sew all the way to the sleeves. just follow the original cut and make it narrower.

or take it somewhere to get tailored, would probably cost around $15

  7. what they probably meant is that theyre not as likely to take packages into customs since theres probably 10000x the mail coming into the country daily than in some smaller countries. but I dont see a reason not to mark it as a gift?

  8. is it really like that? I've stayed at hotels when I was underage but not sure if I ever did that in the US though..

check tripadvisor.com and lastminute.com for hotels, and supermaps for different shopping areas. theres also quite a few topics on nyc here so try browsing around.

  9. if you find a good tailor they can alter pretty much any sort of jacket, I had a leather jacket that was too big and it cost $35 to take both sides in 1", and it also had a lining and everything.

I dont uderstand how L jacket can have short sleeves though, I'm 6" and I can wear S in some brands, usually M..

  10. 1. find the instruction manual if there is one

    2. get some sort of a beginners guide to sewing or find a guide online

its surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it
